It is an object of the present invention to provide a removable food box dispenser which'will be fitted into a corner of a'cardboard box in such a manner that the corner of the box will be rigidly supported and the contents .of the' box will fiow outwardly over a V-shaped space of the dispenser, a cover being provided therein to close the V-shaped opening when the box is b a sanitary food box "roam. It is another object'of the present invention to provide a food b'ox' dispenser adapted to fit the corner of the cardboard box with a measuring means so that measured quantities can be taken from the box, the measuring device being pivoted and able to serve in one position as the cover for the dispenser.

Other objects of the present invention are to provide a food box dispenser which is of simple construction, inexpensive to manufacture and eificient in operation.

According to the invention, the dispenser is formed of inner and outer walls adapted to be extended downwardly over the side walls of the box to retain them therebetween. A top plate extends between the outer Walls to which a cover is hinged for closing a V-shaped corner opening over which the box contents are poured.

In another form of the invention, the inner wall is shaped to form a measuring chamber into which a portion of the box contents may be measured. An extension on the cover will be extended into the measuring chamber to prevent the contents of the box, while the measured quantity is being poured, from leaving the box.

For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, and to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the top portion of a box and of the dispenser embodying the features of the present invention with its cover raised.

Referring now particularly to'the first form of the inventionshown in Figs; 1 to 4,) represents a'ca'rdboard'box having a top and H represents one form of the'food' box dispenser adapted' to be fitted into a top corner of the box. The top corner of the box is pierced with the dispenser i I. The dispenser H has an inner wall l2 and an outer wall I3 adapted to be extended downwardly from the corner for some distance. The lower end of the inner wall I2 is bent slightly inwardly. as indicated at M, whereby to penetrate the corner of the box and permit the easy sliding of the walls 12 and I3 downwardly over the cardboard side walls of the box. The side wall of the 'box will be rigidly retained between the walls l2 and I3. They extend in two directions from the corner. The inner wall is folded from one piece and downwardly from the top of the outer wall. As viewed in Fig. 4, it will be noted that the top edge of the dispenser has a rounded shape and the inner wall is a continuation of the outer wall except that it is bent-down. Inwardly extending portions l5 arebent inwardly atia'n angle of ninety degrees from the outer wall l3. These projections serve as means to which a top plate 16 can be attached and retained as a support for a hinged cover I! connected by hinge formations -18 with a hinge formation is on the plate I 5 and by a hinge pin 2| which is extended --through the hinge formations. A spring 23 can be fixed about the hinge pin 21 and extend across the top of the dispenser toretain the'ccver normally in a closed or lowered position.

When the box in is tilted, the cover :1 my be pulled back and the contents of the box-will be penser has an' outer wall 25 and an inner wall 26 which extends only part way down the extent of the outer wall 25 and is curved inwardly to provide a chamber 21 into which a portion of the contents can be poured before opening a cover 28. The cover 28 has a portion 29 extending at an angle from the rear of the cover portion and is adapted to pass through the chamber 21 whereby to maintain the chamber closed while the contents therein as indicated in Fig. 6 are dispensed. The portion 29 vwill come to rest against projections 3| on the inner wall chamber portion 26. As the cover 28 is lowered, the portion 29 will be extended into the box and out of the chamber?! so as to permit more "material to drop into the chamber 21 as the box is tilted.

While I have illustrated and described the preferred embodiments of my invention, it is to understood that I do not limit myself to the precise constructions iherein disclosed and the .rightisreserved to all changesandmodifications coming within'the scope of the invention as de- Lfined in the appended claim.
