The window side 2! is folded over the side 26 upon a transverse line 28. The window side 21 has an opening formed therein, to provide a window 29. Carried by the right longitudinal edge of the window side 2?, Figure 2, is a wide longitudinal tongue 30, having a considerably greater width than the tongue I8. The tongue 3|] is foldable over the window side 21 upon a longitudinal line 3|. At its outer or free end, the window side 2'! is provided with a transverse flap 32, carrying a resilient socket 33 for receiving a headed stud 34, which is arranged upon the outer face of the sidel6 and is suitably secured thereto. This resilient socket and stud form the usual detachable snap fas-j tener. headed stud, arranged upon the outer face of the side, Hi, and secured thereto, for a purpose to bedescribed. The stud'35 is disposed longitudi nally inwardly of the stud 34.

The first step in assembling the pocket unit is to fold the wide tongue 30 inwardly, and this tongue is then secured to theadjacent portion of the window side 21 by. a longitudinal line of stitching 36, passing through the tongue 30 and window side 21, Figure 1 The line of stitching 36 is close to the folded edge of the tongue 39, and is spaced a considerable distance. from the inner edge of the tongue 30, so that this inner edgecprojects'inwardly beyond the line of stitching 36 for a substantial distance. The next step in assembling, Figure 4, is to arrange the blank |5 with its inner face uppermost and flat, and the blank 25 with its innerface and wide tongue 30 lowermost and arrange the pocket unit forming side 26 over the right tongue I9, and while these parts are in the open fiat position the side 26 is secured to the tongue l9 by a longitudinal line of stitching 31, passing through the side 26 and tongue l9. The blank 25 is now swung over the blank l5, Figure 5, and side 26 is opposite side l6 and window side 21 is opposite side H. The tongue H! to the right, is now above side 26. Tongue [9 to the left, Figure 5, is now folded over the upper face of side 26, Figures 6 and 7 and when the side 21 is folded transversely over side 26, the tongue H! to the left is now positioned betweenside 26 and-window side 21, and these parts are secured together by a longitudinal line of stitching 38, passing through side 26, tongue i9 and window side 21 but not through side It, Figure I '7 The side 26 forms with side l6 a pocket 39, and this pocket is now open at its inner and outer ends and the line of stitching 38 may be formed by a tubular work sewing machine having a part inserted through either end of the pocket 39. The transverse tongue 2| is now in the open position and hasnot been sewed to the sides 26 and 16. The window side 21 may now be folded laterally, Figure 8, and the tongue 2| folded transversely over the side 26, and this tongue is secured in place by a transverse line of stitching 40, passing throughthe tongue 2|, the side 26 and the side l6, Figure 13, thus ing the outer end of the pocket 39.

The flap 45 and its tongues form a coin receiving pocket to receive the coins from the pocket 44, and the flap 45 is tranvsersely foldable so that its resilient socket 48 will receive the headed stud 35, the socket and stud forming a snap fastener. The flap 45 is much longer than the fiap 32 and extends over and completely-covers the flap 32 when the resilient socket 48 is held upon the stud 35. Partition 4! and body portion is shown in Pat. No. 2,358,008. The side 26 forms with the side i6, the pocket 39, as stated and the inner end of this pocket next to the side I! is open, Figure 12. The window side 27 forms with the side 26 a pocket 49-. When the flap 32 is in the open position, a transparent sheet 59 is inserted endwise into the pocket 49.

a line of stitching 42. This partition has an inner edge 43, to be arranged near and spaced from the folding line l8. The partition includes a pocket 44, closed at its inner end. The. part tion carries at its outer end an elongated flap and has one longitudinal edge held in place by the closed longitudinal edge of the pocket while its opposite longitudinal edge engages between a portion of the pocket side 21 and the wide tongue 39, Figure 7 This transparent sheet 56 engages the closed end of the pocket, and the outer end of the transparent sheet is held in place by the flap 32 when the flap is secured in the closed position, The transparent sheet 5|] is therefore held in place and will cover the window opening 29. When the flap 32 is held in the closed position,

- the pocket 49 is closedat its inner and outer ends and at its left longitudinal edge, Figure 7 while the pocket is open throughout its entire length at its right longitudinal edge. By longitudinally flexing the pocket unit, the pocket will be further opened at its right longitudinal edge, so that access may be readily had to the interior of the pocket 49-. An element 5| is inserted within the pocket 49, immediately behind the transparent sheet 56 in engagement therewith and is held in place by the same means that holds the sheet 56 in place. The element 5| may be a driver's permit, a card, photograph or the like.

When the flap 32 is held in the closed position, the partition 4| may be folded over the side 11. and the folding edge 43 will be arranged near the folding line 3, and the fiap 45 will extend beyond the side i! for a considerable distance. The bills may now be laid upon the side H and window side 2'4, with the upper portion of the bills beneath the partition 4|. The side I1 is now folded transversely over the side 21, and the flap 45 is folded over the inner open end of the pocket 44 and over the flap 32, and has its resilient socket 48 secured to the stud 35. With the several parts of the bill folder thus held in the closed position, the bill folder may be longitudinally compressed and this will automatically open further the pocket 49 at its right longitudinal edge, Figure 4, so that papers or the like maybe removed from this pocket withoutopening the major portions of the bill folder. By bending back the free corner of the side 11. the bills may be stripped from the folder without opening the major portions of the folder. When the flap 45 is released from connection with the side Us, the partition 4} and window side 21 may be swung to the open flat position, as shown in dotted lines, Figure 10, whereby the card 5| or the like may be readily observed through the window opening 29. I

In Figures 15 to 18 I have shown a modified form of bill folder. As more clearly shown in Figure 15, the longitudinal tongue 30 is stitched at 35. This tongue 30 may be folded back to posireleased for holding such elements in place. The

Ihe flap 32' has an opening 32 formed: therein near its free end, this opening receives the body' portions? of the stud element 35 and the flap 32' is held beneath the outer flange 36'. It is thus seen that the flap 82' ispermanently held in, the closed positionby the stud element 35. In this construction, the stud element 34; Figure l, is omitted. The lap 32' coverstheouter open end of the pocket 49 andthe pocket therefore has a maximum all over length. This tongue 321 also covers the outer open end; of; the pocket, the. transverse tongue 2.]. and stitching 40,.Eigu re 13, being omitted, and the. pocket, 39 therefore has the all over maximum. length. The-pocket formingv blank 25 .is assembled upon the body 1561 tion side H3 in av similar manner'as descrihed in' connection with the first form of the invention. The main flap 45 which may be slightly longer than the flap 32' is folded over the flap 32 when the bill folder is closed, and its resilient socket 48 is applied to the stud 35, the stud 35 and socket 48 constituting a conventional snap fastener. All other parts of the bill folder remain identical with those shown and described in connection with the first form of the invention.

In connection With the modification of the bill folder, Figures to 18 inclusive, the pocket 49 is open at its longitudinal edge adjacent to the tongue 30. The elements 50 and 5| are inserted through this longitudinal open edge and positioned behind the longitudinal tongue 30, which may be folded back for this purpose. Other papers or the like may be inserted within and removed from the pocket through the longitudinal edge opening. as previously explained.

I also contemplate closing the outer end of the pocket 49 by a line of stitching connecting the adjacent sides, and omitting the flap 32', but this would shorten the length of the pocket 49. Further, the fiap 32 produces a rounded edge at one end of the folder. The modified form of the invention dispenses with one snap fastener, and tine remaining snap fastener is common to both aps.

It is to be understood that the forms of my invention are to be taken as preferred examples of the same and that various changes in the shape, size and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of my invention or the scope of the subjoined claims.

Having thus described my invention, I claim:

1. A billfolder comprising a body portion including connected first and second sides, one side being foldable transversely over the other side, a partition carried by the first body portion side and foldable longitudinally over such side, the partition having an inner billfolding edge arranged near the line of folding of the first and second sides, a separate blank transversely folded for providing a first pocket side and a second pocket side and a first folded transverse edge, the first pocket side being arranged next to the second body side and the second pocket side next to the first pocket side, a line of stitching disposed adjacent to one side edge of the second body portion side and secured to such second body portion side and passing through the first pocket side and the second pocket side, a second line of stitching arranged adjacent to the opposite side edge of the second body; portion side: and. secured tov such; bodypen-- 1 tion; side and passing through the first: pocketsideand not through. thesecond' pocket side; the;

3. A billfolder comprising a body portion including connected first and second sides, one side being folded transversely over the other side, a partition carried by the first body portion side and foldable longitudinally over such side, the partition having an inner billfolding edge arranged near the line of folding of the first and second sides, a separate blank transversely folded for providing a first pocket side and a second pocket side and a first folded transverse edge, the first pocket side being arranged next to the sec ond body side and the second pocket side next to the first pocket side, a line of stitching disposed adjacent to one" side edge of the second body tion side and passing through the first 'pocket side and the second pocket side, a second line of stitching arranged adjacent to the opposite side edge of the second body portion side and secured to such second body portion side and passing through the first pocket side and not through the second pocket side, the arrangement providing a permanent opening at one side edge of the second pocket side, a flap secured to the outer end of the second pocket side and foldable transversely over the second body portion side and forming a second folded transverse edge, a second flap carried by the partition and foldable transversely over the second body portion side, a stud secured to the second body portion side and permanently connecting the first flap with the "second body portion side, and a socket secured to the second flap and arranged for detachable engagement with said stud, the first pocket side forming with the second body portion side a first pocket having its inner and outer ends open and the second pocket side forming with the first pocket side a second pocket having its inner end covered by the first folded transverse edge and its outer end open, the outer open ends of the first and second pockets being covered by the second folded transverse edge of the first flap.
