J. MURDOOK, Jr.
RUBBER STAMP CABINET.
No. 258,665. Patented May 30, 1882.
W] TNESSES: [NVENTOR ATTORNEY TINTTED STATES PATENT FFICE.
JAMES MURDOOK, JR., OF CINCINNATI, OHIO.
RUBBER-STAMP CABINET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 258,665, dated May 30, 1882,
Application filed March 24, 1882. (No model.)
To all 'whom it may concern Be it known that I, JAMES MURDOGK, Jr., of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Rubber-Stamp Cabinets, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawing, which is a perspective view of the cabinet, A and B are the ends, 0 the back, and O the bottom, of a box for containing the stamp, ink, pad, type, &c., pertaining to a rubber stamp. E is the folding front, and G the folding lid. D D are partitions in the box, and F is the ink-pad fixed to the folding front E. The end B has the opening H cut in it, and in this opening the door I is pivoted to fold open downward. To this door I is attached the tray J, having a thin lid, K, sliding in grooves Nin the sides of the tray. A slight buckle or bend given to 20 the lid K will cause it to have a frictional spring fit in the grooves N. Awire, L, reaches from side to side of the tray over the lid. A ledge, M, turned up on the rear edge of the lid by contacting with the wire L, prevents the entire separation of the lid from the tray. The tray is divided by partitions into compartments to receive the types, tweezers, &c. The catch shown retains the door I when shut.
I claim as my invention- The rubber-stamp cabinet having a folding top and front, the opening H in the end of the cabinet, the door I, pivoted in said end, the tray J, fixed to said door, and the sliding lid K of ,said tray, all combined substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
JAS. MURDOGK, JR.
