When the screw-threaded means is released the tubular portion Il can be slid along on the member IE] or IEI into such a position as may be desired. Surrounding the parallel legs I8 of the stop member is a sleeve 2l of rubber or similar cushioning material. The stop members are adjusted so that the cushioning members 2| on the members I8 will engage the inner face of the tub 6 adjacent the rims 'I, thus preventing any transverse movement of the frame relative to the tub and assuring that the side portions 8 and 8 of the frame will be in engagement with the two rims 1 of the tub. It will be noted that due to the sharpness of the bends 9 the members II can be brought much closer to the members 8 and 8 thands shown in the drawings, which makes it possible to adjust the stop members to` such a position that the frame can be safely placed on tubs with one or both rims much narrower than that shown in the drawings.

Mounted on the rectangular frame is a rectangular fabric member 22, which is made of a pervious fabric and which is attached to the frame in such a Way as to support the infant on the same, this being accomplished by placing the rectangular fabric member cornerwise on the frame so that the corner portions 23 and 24 thereof extend around the tubular frame members to the under side thereof. Tapes 25 and 26 extend from .corner to corner on the rectangular piece of fabric entirely across the same in a manner which will be clear from Figs. 1 and 5, the ends of the tapes being tied together fas indicated at 2l. The tapes are drawn together tight enough in connection with the tying of the same that the fabric member 22 will be drawn taut across the frame in both directions, thu's providing a supporting surface for an infant that willhave substantially no sag therein, or at least so little sag that the surface thereof will be substantially flush with the top edges of the rim portions 'I of the tub.

Thus the supporting surface for the infant will be neither located below the top surface of the tub so that water can collect thereon due to water that is allowed to stand in the tub, nor will it be located at a point spaced so far above the rim of the tub as to be in danger of tilting or otherwise getting out of xed position relative to the tub.

What I claim is: 1. A bath appliance of the character described comprising a rectangular framel means for adjusting the length of said frame, means for hold--y jusd position, adjustable stop members projecting downwardly from said frame, and a body supporting member of pervious fabric detachably and adjustably mounted on said frame.

5. A bath appliance comprising a rectangular frame comprising a pair of tub engaging side members and telescoping members connecting the same to extend across said tub, tub engaging stop ngers depending from said frame, a pervious fabric body supporting member detachably mounted on said frame, and means for holding said telescoping members in adjusted telescopic relation comprising a split sleeve embracing one of said telescoped members, a sleeve embracing said split sleeve and screw-threadedly engaging the other telescoped member, and cooperating means on said sleeves for wedging said split sleeve into clamping engagement with both of said telescoped members.

6. The combination with a bath tub of a tubular rectangular frame having a pair of sides engaging the top edges of opposed sides of said tub, and a pair of sides adjustable in length extending perpendicularly to said first mentioned sides transversely across said tub in the same plane as said first mentioned sides comprising telescopically related tubular members, a fabric sheet mounted detachably on said frame to extend between said sides in a plane substantially co-incident with the top edges of said tub, and stop' members on said frame depending therefrom to engage the inner face of said tub adjacent said side edges, said fabric sheet having portions embracing the adjustable sides of said frame and yhaving corner portions detachably and adjustably connected together to embrace said other pair of v sides for any adjustment of said adjustable sides;
