EGKHART L. NICKELS, OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA.
COMBINED BATHTUB AND DRESSER FOR BABIES.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Ecmmnr L. NICKELS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Rochester, in the county of Olmsted and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Bathtubs and Dressers for Babies, otwhich the following is a specification.
My invention is an improvement in combined bath tubs and dressers for babies, and the invention has for its object to provide a device of the character specified especially adapted for the use of babies, wherein the bath tub is built in the dresser, which is provided with a sliding, top for covering the bath. capable of being slipped aside to provide a supporting surface for the baby after it has been bathed, the dresser also having means for holding supplies.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 is a front view of the improved. tub and dresser, with parts broken'away;
Fig. 2 is a perspective view;
Fig. 3 is a sectional view showing the connection between the table and the top.
In the present embodiment of the invention. the device comprises a top 1 which .is in the form of a casing and has dependinglegs 2 in which are mounted rubber tired 'astcr wheels 3, for permitting the table to be moved from place to place. as may be found desirable.
The top st. of the table is slidable longitudinally ot' the table and at one end of the casing there is provided a bath tub of suitable size for the babys bath. The casing has pairs of outwardly and upwardly extending arms 6 at caclrend, and each pair carries a rod 7, the rod at that end remote from the bath acting as a support for the Specification of Letters Patent.

table top 4 when it is moved to uncover the bath.
A series of drawers 8 and 9 is provided in the table, for l'iolding supplies for the baby, as, for instance, clothing, wash rags, soap, towels and the like.
In operation, the baby may be undressed upon the table top, with the parts in the position of Fig. The top is then pushed aside, the baby is given its bath and after removal from the bath the top is pushed back into the position of Fig. The top .is now a support for the baby while it-is being dressed.
The dresser as a whole may be wheeled from place to place, as, for instance, to any warm. corner of the house or any place where it is desirable that the bath be iven.
Preferably, the top .t has wheels 10 on its under face at its inner end, which run upon the casing 1. The top is also grooved longitudinally, as iinilicated at 11, and the table has slides 12 which run in this groove, the said groove being undercut and the slides T-shaped to fit with in the groove. Thus the top is prevented from tilting when it is pushed away from over the bath.
1 claim:
A combined dresser and bathtub comprising an inclosed body sup 'iorted upon legs carrying wheels, a handle member projecting from each end of said body whereby to facilitate its pushing; in either direction from place to place, a bath tub inclosed within said body, and a slidablymounted cover 011 said body nmvable longitudinally in either direction whereby to uncover said tub, said handle members being engaged by and supporting said cm'er when the cover is slid in either direction.
