Referring to the drawings, a rectangular cabinetshowingthe two Asections in closed cabinet composed/of two sections A and B is illustrated. The section A, which will be considered the back section, consists of a rear side 6, top 7 ,edges 8, bottoni 9 and horizontal partitions 10. Portions ofthe rear side 6 and of the edges 8 are projected downwardly below the bottoml 9 to form suitable legs 27. lBetweenthe two upper partitions 10 and between the lower partition 10 and the bottom 9, drawers 11 are mounted. An oval-shaped bath tub 12 having an outwardly projecting flange at its upper edges is illustrated as being hung on a nail within the outline of the section A. It will be understoodthat the interior of the section A may be furnished as de- @9 .Sl@d, and that hooks or other means for holdsection as desired. f v
' The 'section Bconsists of afront side 13 and top, bottom and edge, strips 14, 15 and 16 respectively, secured to thesfront side-13 and 55.y projecting` rearwardly` therefrom when the two sectionso'f the cabinet are assembled together. The two sections areliinged together byhinges 1T at'the inner side edges 16 and 8v,
ing clothes, towels etc., be mounted in the whereby thetwo sections may be'fswung to'-V 60 l getli'er to forin a closed cabinet as' is'illustratedl f in'Fig. 3,501 .the two sections may be swung apart in opened up position, as shown in Figs.'
1 and 2.y The front side-13 and sidefstrips 165 of the front section B are projected below the `V bottom stripl 'to form-suitable 'legs 18 for supporting the section-,B when swunghaway" from section A. f It will be noted'thyat theisec'- tionlB will form a'casingwhich is comparaa casing which is considerably'deeper thanthe 28"at its rear edge tothe front side 13`-of section'B, andv the hinges are so located'on -75 ther side 13 thatthe spacingfrom the hinges f tothe top strip14 isl greater-than the length*` of the panel 19,' sowthat the panel. may bel swung upwardly to lie entirely lwithin the outline 'of the section B vin substantially a vertical plane. The `free srivinging'iendl of the' lpanel 1.9 ypreferablyy carries `at 'itsy edge strap bearings 20' within' whichy a rod 21 is mounted. Therod 21 is vof such length that itprojects outwardly fromthe two side `edges `235 of-thepanel 19 andn strap bearings 22 to which legs28 `are secured, are mounted onty lthe Vportions of the rod 21* projecting out-"f wardly from'the' sideedges ofthe panelV 19.` Therod 21 isproyided with heads or'similar "means at theextreme ends thereof, to prevent the strap bearings 22 `andalegs 23 carried thereby, from sliding off the rod 21. The panelf1'9 is made narrower than the front side 13 of section-B, so that, when the panel iSupWardIy swung, the legs 23 may be dis-` posed completely. iwithin/ the outline of lthe section B andr in substantially the same plane-- as the panel 19. A turn'lbutton 24, forzsi'milar means, is". secured to. the frontisecti'on 13 100 so A will ylie flush with the'panel.
adjacent the top thereof for retaining the panel 19 and parts secured thereto in upwardly 'raised position.
The hinges 28 are spaced a sufficient distance from the lower end of the section B that when the panel 19 is swung down to a horizontal position, the panel will stand at such height that a person sitting in a chair may readily reach over the panel. The legs 23 are of such length that when the panel 19 is swung down to a horizontal position, the legs may be swung forwardly to a vertical position so that the lower ends thereof will just touch the floor to support the free swing-` ing end of the panel 19, as is illustrated inV Fig. 2. The panel 19 has a suitable opening 19a formed therein for reception of a tub such as the tub 12. The panel 19 is rabbeted at 1 9?) adjacent the opening 19a and a cover is hinged to the panel 19 by the hinge 26,
and this cover is rabbeted at its edge-s, soV
that it willA fit the opening 19a onthe rabbeted portion 19?) to Y completely close the opening so that the top surface of thecover When it is desired to insert the tub 12 within the opening 19a, the -cover 25 will be raised to the position shown in Fig. 2, whereupon the tub can be, fit-ted in place.
The present cabinet will, form avery handy and efficient device for use in a nursery to accommodate the clothes of an infant and to provide all 4the necessary paraphernalia. for bathing the infant. Clothes, towels et-c., may be stowed awav in the drawers and on hooks,
shelves etc., formed inthe section A, whileV the tub 12 may also be stored in section A. When it becomes desirable to bathe the infant, section B may be. swung open, whereupon the panel 19 and legs 23 may be loweredto the dotted position shown in Fig. 2. The cover 25 may then be raised, whereuponthe tub 12 may be inserted in place, to permit the infant to be bathed. The mother or nurse may conveniently sit in frontof the panel to readily handle the infant and the openedup sections A and B will act asa screen toshield the infant from draughts while being bathed. After the infant'has been bathed, the tub 12 maybe removed whereupon the cover 25 may be swung downwardly into the opening `19a and a flat surface will thus be provided upon which the child can be dressed. Section B can be made very narrow due to the fact that the panel 19, cover 2-5 and legs 23 may .bev all upwardly raised and situatedvwithin thepivoted at one edge to said section in spaced relation from the ground, said panel having an opening therein within which a tub is adapted to be placed, a cover pivoted to said panel and adapted to fill said opening so that f the cover lies flush with the upper side of said panel and a pair of legs pivoted to the free end of said panel, said legs being adapted to support said panel in substantially horizontal position when the panel is downwardly swung.
