6 Claims. l
The purpose of this invention is toA provide a fixture for displaying, modeling, or showingV a pair of slacks or trousers, or womens skirts as they would or should appear when properly adjusted in use.
The invention relates to display devices for garments and the like and includes a pedestal having a pair or pairsfoff'spaced disks suspended by an arm or by arms from the upper end thereof wherein one of the disks is positioned" to correspond with the hips of a wearer of the garment and a smaller disk spaced abovetheL former disk is positioned to correspond with the waist.
Various types of display stands-have been provided for different garmentsbut where stands of this type are provided for skirtsl and trousers the garmentsV are supported only from thei waist and in garments, particularly of modern design, greater fullness is provided below the waist or around the hips and this is not displayed to advantage with the garment supported lonly from the waist.
The object of this invention is therefore, to provide means in a garment displaying stand for expanding a garment supported at the waist at the point spaced below the waist.
Another object of the invention is to provide a garment display stand for slacks, trousers, skirts and the like in which the garments may readily be dressed upon the stand and readily removed therefrom.
Another object of the invention is to provide a display stand for trousers, skirts, and the like which is formed of rigid construction with no moving parts and in which garments are supported on the stand by belts or other supporting elements of the garment. i A further object of the invention is to provide a display stand for trousers, skirts, and the like in which the garments are expanded at points spaced below th-e waist and which is of a simple and economical construction.
With these and other objects in view the invention embodies a display stand including a post extended upwardly from a base with an outwardly extended arm or with outwardly extending arms at the upper ends and with vertically spaced disks carried by the outer ends of the arms.
Other features and advantages of the invention will appear from the following description taken in connection with the drawings where- 1n:
Figure 1 is a perspective view showing a display 21 stand having. two` armsv as. mayv bei provided for supporting two garments.
Figure 2is a View showing a side. elevationof' the stand. shown inl'igure` 1.
Figure. 3 isa similar vieu/.illustrating a modi'- cation and showingiastand for holding a single garmentV andin which the garmentholding; elements are' turned' sc that the garment' faces. to-
the front of the stand.
Figure 4;' isl a top planfview illustrating a stand for holding a single garment,` asshowninlligure 3, in which the garment holding: elementsaref turned through an angle of Referring now to the drawings wherein". like reference characters denote: corresponding parte the unique' garmentl displayV stand? of thisv inven-v tion. includes a post: I'0,tmounted una base.` Isl. with outwardly extended arms I2 and I3 carried by the upper end and with disks I and I5 suspended by the arms I2 and I6 and II suspended by the arm I3.
In the design shown in Figures 1 and 2 the post I0 is positioned in the center of the base II and the sides are provided with finishing strips I8 and I9. The arm I2 extended from one side of the post is provided with a downwardly extending end 29 on which the disk I4 is mounted and the disk I5 is suspended from the disk I4 by pins 2l. The arm I3 is provided with a similar downwardly extending end 22 on which the disk I6 is mounted and the disk I'I is suspended from the disk I6 by pins 23.
With the parts arranged in this manner a pair of slacks, trousers, a skirt or the like may be dressed over the disk as indicated by the dot and dash lines in Figures 2 and 3 and the waist of the garment may be buttoned, fastened, or held by a belt over the smaller upper disk wherein the lower disk will expand or bulge the garment outwardly at a point corresponding with the hips of a wearer thereof.
In the design shown in Figures 3 and 4 the stand is formed with a post 25 which extends upward from one end of a base 26 and an arm 2l extends outwardly from the upper end of the post with the outer ends of the arms extending downwardly providing a support 28 on which an upper disk 29 is mounted. A larger disk 30 is suspended from the disk 29 by pins 3|.
The disks for supporting the garments are preferably formed of an elliptical shape to correspond with the waist and hips of a person, however, it will be understood that the disks may be of any suitable shape and the post, base, and arms may be formed in other suitable designs.
It will also be understood that although the stand has been illustrated as being provided with one or two pairs of supporting elements the stand may have any number of supporting elements desired. The stand may also be made of any suitable material and may be provided in dierent sizes so that it may be used for both children and adults.
It will be understood that other modifications may be made in the design and arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit of the invention.
What is claimed is:
1. A garment display stand comprising a vertically disposed supporting post, an outwardly extended arm at the upper end of the post, a horizontally disposed disk carried by the outer end of the arm, and a similar disk slightly larger in size than the former disk spaced below the former disk and suspended therefrom.
2. A garment display stand comprising a vertically disposed post having an outwardly extended arm at the upper end of the post and having a pair of spaced horizontally disposed disks carried by the outer end of the arm with the lower disk larger than the upper disk.
3. A garment display stand comprising a Vertically disposed post, a base on which the post is mounted, outwardly extended arms with downwardly extending ends carried by the upper end of the post, and pairs of vertically spaced disks carried by the downwardly extended ends of the arms.
4. A garment display stand comprising a vertically disposed post, a base on which the post is mounted, outwardly extended arms with downwardly extended ends carried by the upper end of the post, and pairs of vertically spaced disks carried by the downwardly extended ends of the arms, the lowermost of said disks being larger than the upper disks.
5. In a garment display stand, the combination which comprises a portable base, a vertically disposed post mounted on and extended upwardly from the base, outwardly extended arms with downwardly extended outer ends carried by the upper end of the post, disks carried by the downwardly extended ends of the arms, corresponding disks spaced below the former disks, and a plurality of pins supporting the lower disks from the upper disks.
6. In a garment display stand, the combination which comprises a portable base, a vertically disposed post mounted on and extended upwardly from the base, outwardly extended arms with downwardly extended outer ends carried by the upper end of the post, disks carried by the downwardly extended ends of the arms, corresponding disks spaced below the former disks, and a plurality of pins supporting the lower disks from the upper disks, said lower disks having greater width and length than the upper disks.
