The purpose of my invention is to provide a combination girdle and panty with an adjustable crotch portion which can be closed or opened, above the crotch.

A further object of my invention in a combination girdle and panty is to provide a crotch portion which can be closed and remains permanently a part of the back portion of the girdle.

A further object of my invention is that the crotch portion may be readily cleansed for sanitary reasons without the necessity of cleansing the entire girdle, if the wearer so desires.

A further object of my invention is that the crotch portion is hooked or attached by other suitable means to the body of the front of the girdle to allow for various sizes for the body of the wearer.

Referring to the drawings which illustrate my invention:

Figure 1 shows a front view.

Figure 3 is a side elevation of the hook and eye shown in relation to each other.

Referring more specifically to the drawings:

The complete girdle and parity is shown at I; the front center insert which stretches upwardly and downwardly is shown at 2; a zipper for opening and closing the girdle at the waistline is shown at 3; the inserts 4 are adjacent to the front center portion which stretch sidewise; the side inserts are shown at 5 which stretch upwardly and downwardly; the back center insert is shown at 6 which stretches upwardly and downwardly; the crotch flap 7 is a part of the back center insert and the girdle when worn has this flap turned upwardly to grip the center front insert closing the crotch by hooking or other means; the gussets sewn to the front center portion are shown at 8 and stretch sidewise; the seam 9 is sewn through the back flap and the reinforcing crotch lining shown at ID; the hooks I l are shown in dotted lines and are sewn inside the crotch flap 1; one row of hook eyes shown in dotted lines at l2 are sewn near the bottom of the front center insert; the additional row of hook eyes shown at 13 and shown in dotted lines are sewn above the row of hook eyes l'2 at any desired distance from the bottom of the front insert so that the flap 1 may be attached thereto; the usual garter clasps used on girdles are shown at I l. The seams shown in the drawing are similar to those generally used in the manufacture of girdles.

Although the drawings and the above specifications disclose the best method in which I have contemplated embodying my invention, I desire in no way to be limited to the details of such disclosure, for in the further application of my invention changes in for-m and proportions can be made as circumstances require or as experience suggests without departing from the spirit of my invention within the scope of the appended claims.

What I claim as new and novel is:

1. A combination girdle and panty garment having a body encircling member with a front and back portion, a crotch member inseparably attached to said back portion and having a single free end terminating in a relatively blunt contour, said free end having attaching means to secure removable attachment thereof with complementary attaching means lying on the front of said body encircling member and proximate to the medial line thereof, and a duplicate of at least one of said attaching means spaced from the other in a direction longitudinally of the length of said crotch member whereby said crotch member may be fastened to the front of the body encircling member with different degrees of tightness.

2. In a combination girdle and parity garment, a body encircling member, a back center portion stretchable upwardly and downwardly forming part of said body encircling member, a crotch flap formed integrally with and being part of said back center portion, said flap being of sufficient length to connect the front and rear of said garment when in position of normal wear and having a free end with a relatively blunt single termination, and disengageable attaching means proximate to said free end and cooperating with complementary attaching means proximate to the lower central part of the front of said body encircling member, at least one of said attaching means being plural in number to provide a plurality of positions of attachment of said flap, whereby different degrees of tightness of said flap may be secured, thereby securing fit with the body of the wearer, free of attaching seams at points at which the weight of the wearer is borne.
