One of the important Ifeatures of this invention resides in a flat cardboard dress form and hanger for the orderly packingfand shipment of dresses, and subsequent hangingof the same for display,l in which the hanger and its support ing hook is cut and folded fromthe body of the form to materially reduce the cost of manufacture over the use of the metal supporting hook employed in the dress form and hanger covered by the aforesaid Letters Patent.
Another feature of the invention is to provide a-locking tongue which` is cut and folded from the waist portion of the flat bdy of the form which engages the initial knot formedby the tying of theends of the belt of `a dress draped upon the form for aiding in holding the dress close to the formpreparatory to the final tying of a bow knot and the subsequent pinning of the hanger and its hook, and the belt engaging tongue folded to operative position, a dress being shown in dot-and-dash lines. Figure 3 is an enlarged detail vertical sectional View on the line 3-3 of Figure 2.

Referring to the drawings by reference characters, and at present to the species of the invention illustrated in Figures 1 toj 5 inclusive, the numeral IU designates a combined dress form and hanger in its entirety which is constructed from a single blank A of relatively stiff cardboard which is die cut to the shape shown in Figure 1, and which will now be described. The blank- A comprises an elongated bodyportion II consistwaist. Integral with the top of the body portion II is an arcuate shape hanger portion I4. Cut from the body portion II by lines of slit I5 and integral with the mid-portion of the hanger portion I4 is a hook I6, the ends of the slits I5 at 'the base of the hook terminating at the inner ends yof the transversely alined `hinge scores I'I-`I'I.` The hanger `portion I4 is folded forwardly on the scores II-'I'I` to provide a dress hanger on which the shoulders of a dress or blouse may be supported when the` article is in use. When the hanger portion is foldedto lie against one side of the body portion I I, the hook I6 leaves the plane thereofandassumes an upstanding position coeitensive withthe mid-portion of the hanger portion I4 to provide a. supporting hook for the article when hung upon a rod or other hanging support.

The mid-portion ofthe waist portion I3`is slit to provide a lbelt engaging tongue 2| which is foldable rearwardly andupwardly on the transversehinge score 22. Broadly, the several forms of the invention herein shown and described embody the generic feature of forming the connecting base of the supporting hooks from material cut and folded from the body portion of the dress form and hanger.
