SHINGLERS BRACKET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 230,425, dated July 27, 1880.
Application filed December 22, 1879.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, CHARLES E. LANGMAID, of Stoneham, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented new and useful Improvements in Sbinglers Brackets, of which the following is a specification.
The nature of my invention consists in combining with a shingle-griping clamp a triangnlar frame which, when open, forms a bracket upon which a board may be placed to form a rest for the shingler and his appliances. The parts that form two sides of the bracket also serve as levers for closing the clamp onto the holding-shingle, whilethe third side consists of a toggle which, when straight, firmly braces the first-mentioned sides open, so as to constitnte a bracket; but when this toggle is bent outwardly the other sides fold together and open the clamp, so as to release the device from the shingle.

In the drawings, let A in dotted lines represent the shingles; H and H, the clamps which gripe the shingle A. (See Fig. 2.)
Onejaw, H, of the clamp is attached to the piece B, while the other jaw, H, is attached to the piece 0. The pieces B and O are piv oted together at e, and held by the housing E.
D and D are toggles, which are hinged at L and L, respectively, to the pieces B and G, and are hinged to each other by the hinge L. K
