ADJUSTABLE STOVE-LEG.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 226,530, dated April 13, 1880.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOSEPH ll/IATZ, of Ricknell, in the county of Knox, and in the State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Stove-Legs;

and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof,

reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.

The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of an extensible stove-leg, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.

In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawings, in which- Figure l is a perspective view of my stoveleg. On the bolt O is placed a tapering or conical washer, D, the base of which fits in the foot, as shown, and a nut, b, is then screwed on the end of the bolt, so as to firmly hold the two parts of the leg together.

By this construction the leg can be extended or contracted, as required, to any necessary size.

I am aware that a stove-leg made in two parts and capable of extension and contraction is not new, and I do not claim such, broadly, as my invention.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
