With these and other objects in View, the invention consists in the features of construction,
combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which discloses the preferred and modified forms of embodiment of out in the claims here,k

5 through an umbrella showing the marker c0n tion `leatheror other brous material.
structed in accordance with the invention applied. f
Figure 2 is a view similar to Figure 1 looking toward the other side `of the marker.
Figure 3 is a fragmentary perspective view of the marker.
Figure 4 is a sectional view taken on the line 4 4 of Figure l.
Figure 5 is a plan view of marker.
Figure 6 is a plan View of another blank thereof.
Figure '7 is a plan view of theidentifying card employed with the marker.
Figure 'la is a plan View of a holding strap employed with the marker. .E

which is fastened at I to the rib at the reduced ball terminal II of the latter in the conventional manner. Fitted to the rib A is a marker denoted generally at C and constructed inv accordance with the invention.
The marker in the preferred embodiment thereof, as illustrated in Figures 11 tol 8, inclusive, of the drawing, comprises a foldable sec- |2 having a crease line I3 transversely thereof at its intermediate portion, being dis-` posed crosswise of the said section so as to permit the folding thereof to effect a back I4 and a front I uniformly sized with respect to each other and in matched relation when folded. 'I'he front I5 is provided with an elongated slot effecting a window I6 for visibility ofl identifying indicia I'I upon a card I8 placed between the back I4 and the front I5 on the foldingof the section I 2. The card I8 hasdisposed over its front indicia-carrying side a transparent piece I9 allowing the exposure Atherethrough of the indicia I'I through the window I6 for visibility.
The card I8 with thetransparentpiece I9 is `disposed forwardly of a section 2li with the transparent piece I9 in front of the latter and this section 20 is within the fold of the section I2.` The section 20 is preferably made from sheet metal while v the section I2 ismade from made from sheet cardboard and it is preferable `one blank of the The card is to have the transparent piece I9 made from Celluloid.
The section 2E), when within the folded section l2, which latter is saddled over the rib A between it and the cover B in the position as shown in Figure 1 of the drawing, has provided at opposite ends and along one side edge bendable tongues 2l and 22, respectively, certain oi these being folded rearwardly and overlie the folded portion Ui, which is the back of the section l2, while the remainder of said tongues are folded forwardly and upwardly to overlie the front I5 of the section l2 and in this manner the marker is assembled attached to the rib A of the umbrella, parasol or the like.
'I'he other side edge of the section 2l! has a foldable flap 23 carrying a tongue 2li and underlying this flap 23 is a holding strap 25 secured in any suitable manner in place, it having a slotted end 265 adapted to be slipped over the ball terminal end ll of the rib A. The tongue on the i'lap 23, when the latter is folded, is inserted in a slot 2 therefor provided in the front I5 of the section l2 and in this manner the marker is completely assembled and in attached relation to the rib A of the umbrella, parasol or the like.
What is claimed is:
l. In combination with an umbrella having a rib, and a cover tacked thereto, a marker comprising a folded body saddling said rib adjacent to the tucked point of the cover therewith and forming a front and back of uniform size with respect to each other in matched relation one to another, said front having a slot, an identification card between the front and back and par tially exposed by said slot, a section fitting the body in rear of the said card and having a folded flap next to the fold side of said body provided with a tongue engaged in said body, and tongues on the section and reversely folded over the iront and back. of said body for unitary assembly of the card, body and section.
2. In combination with an umbrella having a rib, and a cover tacked thereto, a marker comprising a folded body saddling said rib adjacent to the tucked point of the cover therewith and forming a front and back of uniform size with respect to each other in matched relation one to another, said front having a slot, an identifica-` tion card between the front and back and partially exposed by said slot, a section iitting the body in rear of the said card and having a folded flap next to the fold side of said body provided with a tongue engaged in said body, tongues on the section and reversely folded over the front and back of said body for unitary assembly of the card, body and section, and a holdin strap secured between the body and said section and looped onto the` rib.
