1 China.
The present invention relates to toy railroads,
and is more particularly directed toward a toy railroad having a vehicle provided with a propulsion motor which can operate on either direct 5 or alternating current, and a sound producing signal operable by a second motor which will run on only one form of current, so that whenever the track is energizedwith either alternating or direct current the propulsion motor may be operated,
10 while the motor (or the sound producing signal can be operated only when the proper form 01 current is supplied.
The single figure in the accompanying drawing shows a circuit arrangement suitable for carrying II in series with it, or the field of this motor is made of high impedance so that insumcient alternating current will flow through the circuit of the motor SI for operating the same. The sound producing signal operated by the motor 90 will 6 therefore be idle an alternating current operation, but will operate when direct current is applied to the track.
, What is claimed is:
In combination, a toy railroad having rails, a 10 toy vehicle having a propulsion motor wound for operation by either direct current or by alternating current and connected to current collectors bearing on the rails, means to supply to the rails electric current of either direct or alternating current elective for operating the propulsion motor, a second vehicle carried motor connected to the current collectors and operable by one of said forms of current only so that the propulsion motor can be operated concurrently with go the second motor or while the second motor is idle by changing from one form of current to the other, and a sound producing signal operable from the second motor concurrently with the operation of the propulsion motor. 25
