Description
A. FEHRENBACH 2,133,020
SLIP-ON SHOWERSPRAY HOLDER Filed July 15, 1936 Oct. 11, 1938.
INVENTOR. ANTflN FE/I/FE/VMCH Patented Oct. 11, 1938 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE SLIP-N SHOWER SPRAY HOLDER.
Anton Fehrenbach, New York, N. Y.
Application July 15,
1 Claim.
This invention relates to spraying devices used for bathing and like purposes.
A special object of the invention is to provide means for supporting the spray head and water 5 supply hose at any point along an upright surface. A further feature is in the provision of means for attaching the support to those of variant sizes.
Another purpose is to provide a spray support and means associated therewith, whereby the spray head may be directed angularly outward with respect to the hose at any preferred inclination.
Finally, to provide a spray head support, adapted to be applied at any convenient place all without the use of tools or special appliances.
These advantageous objects are accomplished by the novel construction and combination of few and simple parts hereinafter described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing; constituting a material component of this disclosure, and in which:
Figure 1 is a side elevational view of an em-,
conventional bath tub is designated by the numeral 15, adjacent to an upright wall l6, through which extends a water supply pipe "having a down-turned end 18 terminating usually with a coarse pitch screw thread.
Engaged with the pipe outlet I8 is an enlarged sleeve 20 formed on the end of a flexible hose 2|,
and removed in easy and expeditious manner,
1936, Serial No. 90,681
(Cl. 248) I that is spaced parallel with the wall [6, curved outwardly at its opposite raised end portion 22 and connected with a spray head 23, these several elements being of well known types.
Loosely encircling the upper part of the hose, and its curved portion 22, is a wire coil 25, and engaged by one of the coils is a perforated lug 26 extending axially outward from the convex side of a suction cup 21 of rubber or the like, capable of being firmly pressed and flattened against a surface, as the wall it, and strongly adhering thereto, sufficiently to support the hose and its spray head.
The modifications shown in Figures 9 and 10 disclose. a suction cup '35 having on its outer side a projection 36 containing an opening 3! through which the coil 25 may be passed and adjusted therealong, the thickness of the projection being preferably sufiicient to embrace several of the supportcoils.
It is to be observed, that the coil 25 is adapted to retain the curved shape given the hose 22, in addition to acting as a connection with the supporting suction cup, which obviously can be applied to any convenient upright wall.
.Although the foregoing is descriptive of the best known embodiments of the invention, it will be understood, that such minor changes may be resorted to, as may come within the scope of the appended claim, without departure from the spirit of the invention.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, and desired to be secured by Letters Patent, is:
, A support for a spray head having'a flexible 7 tube connected centrally with the head and comprising a wire loosely coiled helically around the tube at the portion adjacent the head, said coils being widely spaced and curved arcuately in conformity with the tube, a flexible suction support and a lug extending from said support having an opening to adjustably engage the coiled wire at any point along its length.
