IMPROVEMENT 'IN FOOT BARYS AND RAILS FOR STOVES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 209,053, dated October 15, 1878; application filed September 2, 1878 1 To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSIAH JEWETT, of the city of Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Foot Bars or Rails for Stoves, of which the following is a specification:
The nature and object of my invention consist in providing, as a useful adjunct to the ordinary foot bar or rail, a place or places, forming a portion or part of or made separate and bolted onto the said foot bar or rail, for the purposes of setting a vessel for heating water or articles of food, and for other useful purposes.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a foot-bar made to entirely encircle the base of a stove. Fig. 2 represents a foot-bar madeto encircle only a portion of the circumference of a stove.
The letters 13 indicate the projections constructed for the purposes of accommodating a vessel or vessels.
I do not confine myself strictly to the manner shown of forming these projections, for they may be made a part of and cast with the foot-bar; or they may be made separate, and bolted or secured by catches to the foot-bar.
