IMPROVEMENT IN METALLIC AWNINGS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 208,692, dated October 8, 1878; application. filed I September 8, 1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Be'it known that I, ERNST OTTo POHL, of the city and county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Metallic Awnings or Coverings, of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to provide an adjustable awning or covering of simple construction for protection from sunlight, rain, hail, and snow, without interfering with the admission of light and air, as required, and so arranged that it can easily be operated from within a building or any other convenient place.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side view of an adjustable awning when opened. Fig. 2 is a top view of the same when closed; Fig. 3, a detached view of the ratchet and pulley on an enlarged scale.
