This invention relates to hats and has particular reference to a device of this kind which may be cleaned without the necessity of ripping olf of the band usually associated with hats of this type.

One of the objects of the invention is the provision of a hat which is provided with a band that may be snapped into place and easily removed when desired.

A further object of the invention is the provision of a hat having hat band retaining loops formed integrally with the hat.

A further object of the invention is the provision of a hat which may be cleaned without the necessity of removing the fastening means.

Another object of the invention is the provision of means whereby a hat may be provided with various different bands of various materials which may please the wearer at the particular moment.

Further objects and advantages will be apparent from a reading of the following specification, taken in connection with the drawing, wherein,

Referring more particularly to the drawing, there is shown therein a hat ID having looped band retainers II sewn thereon, as indicated at 45 I2. It is to be understood that these looped members are to be constructed of the same material as the hat itself.

A hat band I3 is adapted to be passed through the looped members II and carries at either end a male snap fastening member I4 and a female snap fastening member I5, respectively, whereby the band is retained in position upon the hat. On the outer side of the band, there is sewn or otherwise attached a bow I6, which covers the junction point of the ends of the band.

In Figures 4 and 5, there is shown a hat having a series of snap fastener members I'I and a series of loop members I8 having snap fastener members I9 thereon which are adapted to coact with the members I1. In this instance the loop members are preferably formed of the same material as the band and they are, of course, removable from the hat.

In Figure 6 there is shown a hat band for use with a hat as shown in Figure 4 and which is itself provided with snap fastener members 20 to coact with the members I'I to retain the band in position upon the hat.

In Figures 7 and 8 there is shown another modification of the invention, wherein there is provided a hat having a series of double slits 2|, forming thereby a series of loops 22 which are, of course, integral with the hat.

It is understood that changes may be made in the structural details within the scope of the appended claims, without in any manner aiecting the spirit of this invention.

What is claimed is:

1. A hat including a crown, a brim, a removable decorative band and a series of band re taining loops formed of material similarto that of the band, said loops being formed independently of the hat and having snap fastening means for engagement with the crown.

2. A hat including a crown, a brim, a removable decorative band and a series of band retaining loops formed of materialasimilar to that of the band, said loops being formed independently of the hat and having., ,snap.fastening means for engagement with the crown and snap fastening means at the extremities of the band for securing the ends thereof together.
