Abstract
An apparatus including an attachment device configured to allow the pin to be inserted and held by the attachment device; a strip of material having a first end and an opposing second end; wherein the pin is fixed to the strip of material nearer the first end than the second end; wherein the attachment device is fixed to the strip of material nearer the second end than the first end; and wherein the pin is configured to attach to the attachment device, The pin may project out substantially perpendicular from the strip of material, such that the pin can be inserted into the attachment device to cause the apparatus to be substantially in a closed loop, without the pin projecting out of the attachment device. The apparatus may be attached to clothing to cause one portion of the clothing to come closer to another portion of the clothing for aesthetics.
Description
- This invention relates to fashion accessories.
- Various fashion accessories are known in the art.
- In at least one embodiment an apparatus is provided comprising: a pin; an attachment device configured to allow the pin to be inserted and held by the attachment device; a strip of material having a first end and an opposing second end; wherein the pin is fixed to the strip of material nearer the first end than the second end; wherein the attachment device is fixed to the strip of material nearer the second end than the first end; and wherein the pin is configured to attach to the attachment device to cause the strip of material to be in a substantially closed loop.
- The strip of material may have a length and a width, wherein the length is substantially longer than the width. The length of the strip of material may be between two and six inches. The pin may project out substantially perpendicular from the strip of material. The pin may have a height, projecting outwards substantially perpendicularly from the strip of material, such that the pin can be inserted into the attachment device to cause the apparatus to be substantially in a closed loop, without the pin projecting out of the attachment device.
- In at least one embodiment a method is provided which comprises attaching an apparatus to clothing in a manner which causes one portion of the clothing to be brought closer together to another portion of the clothing for aesthetic purposes. The apparatus may constructed as previously described.

first apparatus 1 may include aring 2, anattachment device 4, astrip 6, aring 10, aring 12, apin 14, and aring 16. Thestrip 6 may be sandwiched between thering 2 and theattachment device 4, wherein thering 2 and theattachment device 4 are fixed to aportion 6 a of thestrip 6. Thestrip 6 may be sandwiched between thering 12 and thering 10 wherein thering 12 and thering 10 are fixed to aportion 6 b of thestrip 6. Thestrip 6 may be made of a cloth material. Each of thering 2, theattachment device 4, thering 10, thering 12, thepin 14, and thering 16 may be made of metal, such as a hard metal. -

attachment device 4 may includemembers FIG. 4A . This squeezing together, causes ends of themembers body 104 c to separate, and thereby permits thepin 14, staring frompoint 14 a, to enter into an inner chamber of thebody 4 c of theattachment device 4, with thepin 14 entering first through thering 102, then piercing thestrip 106, and then into the inner chamber of thebody 4 c. When themembers pin 14, or a substantial part of thepin 14, is held within the inner chamber of thebody 4 c of theattachment device 4, by the ends ofmembers body 4 c, coming together and holding thepin 14, such as shown inFIG. 7A and 8A . In the closed state or configuration ofFIGS. 7A and 8A , theapparatus 1 is substantially in a closed loop. -
FIG. 1B is a top, right, and front perspective view of asecond apparatus 100 in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, which may be identical to thefirst apparatus 1 ofFIG. 1A , except that no breakaway portion is shown inFIG. 1B , and with thesecond apparatus 100 in an open state. - The
second apparatus 100 may include aring 102, anattachment device 104, astrip 106, aring 110, aring 112, apin 114, and aring 116. Thestrip 106 may be sandwiched between thering 102 and theattachment device 104, wherein thering 102 and theattachment device 104 are fixed to thestrip 106. Thestrip 106 may be sandwiched between thering 112 and thering 110 wherein thering 112 and thering 110 are fixed to thestrip 106. Thestrip 106 may be made of a cloth material. Each of thering 102, theattachment device 104, thering 110, thering 112, thepin 114, and thering 116 may be made of metal, such as a hard metal. -
FIG. 2B is a top plan view thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B in the open state.FIG. 3B is a bottom plan view of thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B , in an open state.FIG. 4B is a right side elevational view of thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B , in an open state, the left side being a mirror image of the right side.FIG. 5B is a rear elevational view of thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1A in an open state.FIG. 6B is a front elevational view of thesecond apparatus 100 of FIG. 1A in an open state.FIG. 7B is a first perspective view of thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B in a closed state.FIG. 8B is a second perspective view of thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B in a closed state. - The
attachment device 104 may includeprotrusions FIG. 4B . This squeezing together, causes ends of themembers body 104 c, to separate, and permits thepin 114, staring frompoint 114 a, to enter into an inner chamber of thebody 104 c of theattachment device 104, with thepin 114 entering through thering 102, piercing through thestrip 106, and then into thebody 104 c. When theprotrusions pin 114, or a substantial part of thepin 114, is held within the inner chamber of thebody 104 c of theattachment device 104, by ends of themembers body portion 104 c coming together and holding thepin 114 in place, such as shown inFIGS. 7A and 8A . In the closed state or configuration ofFIGS. 7A and 8A , theapparatus 1 is substantially in a closed loop. - The
members body body - The
strip 106 may have a length L1, shown inFIG. 2B which may be two to six inches. Thestrip 106 may have a width W1, shown inFIG. 2B , of about one inch. Thestrip 106 may be made of an elastic material, or fabric material, and may have various designs. -
FIG. 9A shows a diagram ofpart 200 of a person wearing apant 202. The pant may include a bottom end orportion 202 b and a top orwaist portion 202 a. Thepart 200 of the person may include a back 200 a, waist orhips 200 b, andthighs 200 c. -
FIG. 9B shows a diagram of thepart 200 of the person ofFIG. 9A wearing thepant 202, with thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B , attached to thepant 202 and in a closed state. Thesecond apparatus 100 pulls together or scrunches together theportions pant 202 to cause aline 204, and generally to tighten thepant 202, for aesthetic and/or functional purposes. InFIG. 9B , thesecond apparatus 100 is in the closed state shown inFIGS. 7B and 8B , with thepin 114 inserted into thebody 104 c of theattachment device 104. -
FIG. 10A shows a diagram ofpart 300 of a person wearing a blouse orshirt 302. The blouse orshirt 302 may includechest portion 302 b and bottom orwaist portion 302 a. Thepart 300 of the person may includechest 300 a andstomach area 300 b. -
FIG. 10B shows a diagram of thepart 300 of the person ofFIG. 10A wearing the blouse orshirt 302, with thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B , attached to the blouse orshirt 302 and in a closed state. Thesecond apparatus 100 pulls together or scrunches together theportions blouse 302 to causestomach area 300 b to be visible, or clothes worn underneath blouse orshirt 302 in thestomach area 300 b to be visible, and generally tightens the blouse orshirt 302, for aesthetic and/or functional purposes. InFIG. 10B , thesecond apparatus 100 is in the closed state shown inFIGS. 7B and 8B , with thepin 114 inserted into thebody 104 c of theattachment device 104. -
FIG. 11A shows a diagram of a back of apart 400 of a person who is wearing ashirt 402. Thepart 400 includes upper back 400 a and lower back 400 b. Theshirt 402 includes backarea 402 a andwaist end 402 b.FIG. 11B shows a diagram of thepart 400 of the person ofFIG. 11A wearing theshirt 402, with thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B , attached to theshirt 402 and in a closed state. Thesecond apparatus 100 pulls together or scrunches together theportions shirt 402 to causelower back area 400 b to be visible, or clothes worn underneathshirt 402 in thelower back area 400 b to be visible, and generally tightensshirt 402, for aesthetic and/or functional purposes. InFIG. 11B , thesecond apparatus 100 is in the closed state shown inFIGS. 7B and 8B , with thepin 114 inserted into thebody 104 c of theattachment device 104. -
FIG. 12A shows a diagram of apart 500 of a person wearing apants leg 502. The pants leg includesupper portion 502 a andlower portion 502 b. Thepart 500 of the person includesupper leg area 500 a andlower leg area 500 b.FIG. 12B shows a diagram of thepart 500 of the person ofFIG. 12A wearing thepants leg 502, with thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B , attached to thepants leg 502 and in a closed state. Thesecond apparatus 100 pulls together or scrunches together theportions pants leg 502 to causelower leg area 500 b to be visible, or clothes worn underneath pantsleg 502 in thelower leg area 500 b to be visible, and generally tightenspants leg 502, for aesthetic and/or functional purposes. InFIG. 12B , thesecond apparatus 100 is in the closed state shown inFIGS. 7B and 8B , with thepin 114 inserted into thebody 104 c of theattachment device 104. -
FIG. 13A shows a diagram of apart 600 of a person wearing askirt 602. Theskirt 602 includesupper portion 602 a andlower portion 602 b. Thepart 600 of the person includesupper leg area 600 a and lower leg area orfeet 600 b.FIG. 13B shows a diagram of thepart 600 of the person ofFIG. 13A wearing theskirt 602, with thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B , attached to theskirt 600 and in a closed state. Thesecond apparatus 100 pulls together or scrunches together theportions skirt 602 to causeleg area 600 a to be visible, or clothes worn underneathskirt 602 in thearea 600 a to be visible, and generally tightensskirt 602, for aesthetic and/or functional purposes. InFIG. 13B , thesecond apparatus 100 is in the closed state shown inFIGS. 7B and 8B , with thepin 114 inserted into thebody 104 c of theattachment device 104. -
FIG. 14A shows a diagram of apart 700 of a person wearing ashirt 702. Theshirt 702 includesupper portion 702 a andlower portion 702 b. Thepart 700 of the person includesupper back area 700 a andlower back area 700 b.FIG. 14B shows a diagram of thepart 700 of the person ofFIG. 14A wearing theshirt 702, with thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B , attached to theshirt 700 and in a closed state. FIG. 15A shows a diagram of apart 800 of a person wearing ashirt 802. Theshirt 802 includesupper arm portion 802 a and lower edge orportion 802 b. Thepart 800 of the person includes shouldarea 800 a andarm area 800 b.FIG. 15B shows a diagram of thepart 800 of the person ofFIG. 15A wearing theshirt 802, with thesecond apparatus 100 ofFIG. 1B , attached to theshirt 900 and in a closed state. Thesecond apparatus 100 pulls together or scrunches together theportions shirt 802 to causearm area 800 b to be visible, or clothes worn underneathshirt 802 in thearea 800 b to be visible, and generally tightensshirt 802, for aesthetic and/or functional purposes. InFIG. 15B , thesecond apparatus 100 is in the closed state shown inFIGS. 7B and 8B , with thepin 114 inserted into thebody 104 c of theattachment device 104. - In at least one embodiment, as shown in
FIG. 4B , thepin 114 may have a height H1, which is less than or equal to the height H2 of the combination of thering 102,strip 106, andattachment device 104 so that thepin 114 can be attached to theattachment device 104 as inFIGS. 7B and 8B to form a substantially closed loop, without thepin 114 exiting theattachment device 104. In this manner a person will not stick themselves with thepin 114 since it does not project outwards fromattachment device 104. -
FIG. 16 shows a diagram ofpart 900 of a person wearing pants 902, with the front 902 a of the pants 902 shown inFIG. 16 .FIG. 16 also shows thesecond apparatus 100 and anidentical apparatus 100′ attached to the front of the pants 902 in a manner to tighten the pants 902 or in one embodiment to create a pocket inarea 902 b, or to otherwise scrunch or pull together different portions of the pants 902. Theapparatus 100′ hascomponents 106′ and 112′ which may be identical tocomponents - Although the invention has been described by reference to particular illustrative embodiments thereof, many changes and modifications of the invention may become apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It is therefore intended to include within this patent all such changes and modifications as may reasonably and properly be included within the scope of the present invention's contribution to the art.
Claims (10)
1. An apparatus comprising:
a pin;
an attachment device configured to allow the pin to be inserted and held by the attachment device;
a strip of material having a first end and an opposing second end;
wherein the pin is fixed to the strip of material nearer the first end than the second end;
wherein the attachment device is fixed to the strip of material nearer the second end than the first end; and
and wherein the pin is configured to attach to the attachment device to cause the strip of material to be in a substantially closed loop.
2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein
the strip of material has a length and a width, wherein the length is substantially longer than the width.
3. The apparatus of claim 2 wherein
the length of the strip of material is between two and six inches.
4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein
the pin projects out substantially perpendicular from the strip of material.
5. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising
the pin has a height, projecting outwards substantially perpendicularly from the strip of material, such that the pin can be inserted into the attachment device to cause the apparatus to be substantially in a closed loop, without the pin projecting out of the attachment device.
6. A method comprising the steps of:
attaching an apparatus to clothing in a manner which causes one portion of the clothing to be brought closer together to another portion of the clothing;
wherein the apparatus comprises:
a pin;
an attachment device configured to allow the pin to be inserted and held by the attachment device; and
a strip of material having a first end and an opposing second end;
wherein the pin is fixed to the strip of material nearer the first end than the second end;
wherein the attachment device is fixed to the strip of material nearer the second end than the first end; and
and wherein the pin is configured to attach to the attachment device to cause the strip of material to be in a substantially closed loop.
7. The method of claim 6 wherein
the strip of material has a length and a width, wherein the length is substantially longer than the width.
8. The method of claim 7 wherein
the length of the strip of material is between two and six inches.
9. The method of claim 7 wherein
the pin projects out substantially perpendicular from the strip of material.
10. The method of claim 6 wherein
the pin has a height, projecting outwards substantially perpendicularly from the strip of material, such that the pin can be inserted into the attachment device to cause the apparatus to be substantially in a closed loop, without the pin projecting out of the attachment device.
