- My invention is designed for holding a win dow securely at any point desired without injury to the sides of the frame; and it consists of a frame or ring having a fiat pressing-plate on one side, in combination with a hollow or cup-shaped eccentric provided with an outer projecting flange or rim, for holding the ring and pressing-plate in place, and a handle for operating it, all as hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

- O is the eccentric. It is constructed with the depression D, (shown in Fig. 3,) and is provided with an outwardly projecting flange, E, for holding the ring and plate A B in place, as shown.

v IMPROVEMENT IN SASH-HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 201,956, dated April 2; 1878; application filed September 18,1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EnsoN E. SHEPARD, of the city of Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Window- Fasteners, which improvements are fully set forth in the following specification and accompanyin g drawing, in which- Figure 1 represents a side elevation of the invention connected to a portion of a window; Fig. 2, a side elevation of the eccentric-ring and pressing-plate and Fig. 3 is a central section through line X X, Fig. 1.
My invention is designed for holding a win dow securely at any point desired without injury to the sides of the frame; and it consists of a frame or ring having a fiat pressing-plate on one side, in combination with a hollow or cup-shaped eccentric provided with an outer projecting flange or rim, for holding the ring and pressing-plate in place, and a handle for operating it, all as hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In said drawings, A represents the ring, and B the pressing-plate, both being formed in one piece. O is the eccentric. It is constructed with the depression D, (shown in Fig. 3,) and is provided with an outwardly projecting flange, E, for holding the ring and plate A B in place, as shown. F is the handle for operating the device. G represents a screw for holding the eccentric in place to the window- EDSON E. SHEPARD.
