Description

Sept la7, 1935. D. HOLLAND m4,
LINGERE STRAP HOLDER Filed May 1, 1955 Patented Sept. 17, 1935 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 3 Claims.
ing detailed description made with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the holder sewed to the shoulder portion of a dress, shown torn away, and a lingerie strap engaged in the holder.
Figure 2 is an elevation showing one form of the holder in accordance with this invention.
Figure 3 is an elevation showing a modified form of holder.
Figure 4 is an elevation showing another modiiied form of holder, and
Figure 5 is an under view in perspective of the device sho-wn in Figure 2 showing the relative positions of the free ends of the holder.
The lingerie strap holder in accordance with this invention is shown in Figure 1 applied to the shoulder portion of a dress. The holder, which 30 is designated generally by the numeral l, may be formed from a single strand of wire. It is at- Y tached to the inner face of the dress by stitches 2 passing through the upper loop of the holder and the dress. The holder has non-contacting free ends as shown in Figures 2, 3, 4 and 5, and a lingerie strap 3 is to be inserted in the holder and so held in place in the lower loop by being passed between these free ends.
With reference to Figure 2, it will be seen that f. the holder is formed of a single strand of wire,
which is first bent upon itself centrally to form an upper loop 4. The ends of the wire, afterY formed, diverge from each other at 180 and then form semi-circular arcs 8 and so converge. The free ends 9 and I0 occupy the same relative positions as those of the holder shown in Figure 2.
In the form of holder ,shown in Figure 4, the 5 ends of wire after the formation of the loop Il diverge from each other at an angle of about The free ends are then bent again at acute angles to form the end portions I3 and I4 which converge on the same plane, but remain spaced 10 apart and do not contact each other.
It will be seen that a lingerie strap may be easily inserted and removed from the holder by being passed between the non-contacting free ends of the holder, but, when once in place, will be firmly 15 held within the lower loop or body portion of the holder.
It will be understood that the details and specic forms set forth hereinabove and in the drawing are illustrative only, and that the invention 20 as described herein is limited only by the claims hereinafter set forth.
What I claim and desire to protect by Letters Patent is:
1. A lingerie strap holder comprising a piece of 25 wire centrally bent at its middle part to form an eye or loop, the members on .each side of said eye or loop being directed outwardly from said loop and then inwardly forming a partially-inclosed space, and the free ends of said members being ,30 spaced apart from each other on the same plane in overlapping relationship.
2. A lingerie strap holder comprising a piece of wire centrally bent at its middle part to form an eye or loop, the members on each side of said 35 eye or loop being directed outwardly from said loop at an angle of about from each other and then inwardly forming a partially-inclosed space, and the free ends of said members being spaced apart from each other on the same plane 40 in overlapping relationship.
3. A lingerie strap holder comprising a piece of wire centrally bent at its middle part to form an eye or loop, the members on each side of said eye or loop being directed outwardly from said 45 loop at an angle of about 60 from each other and then inwardly forming a partially-inclosed space, and the free ends of said members being spaced apart from each other on the same plane in overlapping relationship.
