(Cl. 2- -I15) Q The invention relates to a combined shirt and shorts for boys. g i r .The object of the present invention is to improve the construction of .boys shirts and to prog vide a simple, practical and comparatively inexpensivev garment equipped with means for .preventing a shirt from working up out of the trousers when the latter 'are'supportedwith or without a belt and worn'without suspenders. e

A further object of theinvention is toprovide a shirt having two shorts-forming members .permanently connected atone end-to the back portion of a shirt and longitudinallytapered'and adjustably and detachably secured at their other end to the front portion of. the shirt to.form shorts with leg openings at the sides thereof and crossed intermediate of the ends to provide a closed crotch.

It is also an object of the invention to provide shorts-forming members adapted to securelyhold the shirt down and at the same time provide ample fullness of the garment at the leg openings. Another object of the invention is 'to provide n crossed shorts-forming members adapted'toibe readily spread apart when required and capable of normally remaining injclosedno verlapp'ed relation'to provide practically av completely closed garment -:between the .outerzsi-de 'edges of, the

. The buttons 12 and 13- are located centrally of linetand they permit the size of the shortsformed by thesaid members to be varied. Thesmaller ends of the members are reinforced to provide substantially triangular tab-like portions 14 and

The outer edge 19 of the piece 15 is straight and the outer edge 20 of the piece 16 is curved to provide the desired width ofthe shorts at the back. Each outer piece 16 of the members 4 and 5 is provided at its outer edge with an inwardly tapered transversely disposed gusset 21 extending inwardly from the outer edge of the section 16 and tapered inwardly and adapted to provide a fullness of the garment at the leg openings formed by loopingthe members 4 and 5, as clearly illustrated in Fig. 1 of the drawing, to provide the shorts.

The shorts-forming members are adapted to hold the shirt down and there will be no liability of the tail of the shirt working out of the, trousers and this difliculty with boys shirts will be entirely eliminated. The front portion of the shirt is provided with extensions 22 which cooperate with the said members in the formation 1 of the shorts, as clearly shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing. The garment consisting of the combined shirt and shorts is easily andquickly applied to a person and readilyremoved.
