Application filed May 28, 1530, Serial The present invention relates to new and useful improvements in wearing apparel and more particularly to a one-piece garment constituting an outer garment and drawers and has. for a primary object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a garment of this character which may be expeditiously put on or taken off in the manner of a coat-shirt.

Other objects of the invention are to pro vide a combination garment of the character described which will be comparatively simple in construction, strong, durable, etficient in its use and which may be manufactured at low cost.

All of the foregoing and still further objects and advantages of the invention may become apparent from a study of the following specification, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein like characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, and wherein:

Figure 1 is a view in front elevation of a combination garment constructed in accordance with this invention in closed position,

Figure 2 is a front view of the garment showing the crotch portions unbottoned and separated,

Figure 3 is a View in front elevation of the garment with the sides unbuttoned and thrown back in a manner to expose the interior constructionand show the arrangement of the crotch members.

Figure d is a fragmentary detail view on an enlarged scale in rear elevation of a lower portion of the garment.

Figure 5 is a fragmentary detail view on an enlarged scale and in rear elevation show ing a portion of one of the legs.

Referring to the drawings in detail, it will be seen that the reference numeral 1 designates the body portion of the garment which is adapted to be buttoned together as at 2 throughout its length. 3 and 4 designate depending leg portions. As best seen in Figure 4 of thedrawings, a lower rear portion of the garment is slit as at 5 in a manner to provide an extension 6 on the leg portion 3. The. free edges of the leg portions of the garment are cut at an obtuse angle as designated by the. reference numeral 15 (see Figure 3)., and provided with button holes 1?. Above the obtuse edges 16 and'adj acent thereto the garment has formed t erein the. button holes 18. and when the ailment is out on the flap 7 is brought forwardl between the limbs .of' the wearer and the button 19 is inserted through each of the button holes 18. The buttons 15 are. inserted through the button holes 17 on the obtuse marginal portion 16 of the leg portion 4. The. extension 6 is brought forwardly between the limbs of the wearer and the buttons 10 thereon arev inserted in thefbutton-holes 17 of the vobtuse marginal portion 16 of the leg portions 3.

The gores 11 and 12 and the flap 7, as well as .the leg portions 3 and a are of a configuration to. give sufficientfuliness to the. portion of the garment to permit bending over of the body'of the wearer and provide a maximum of comfort. It is understood, of course, that bindings or facings are to he provided wherever desired on the marginal portion and edges of the garment. In Figure 3 of the drawings, the reference numeral 20 designates an anchoring seat on the inner side of the extension 6 for anchoring the button 9 thereto.

It is believed that the many advantages of a combination garment constructed in accordance with this invention will be readily ill understood and although the preferred embodiment of. the invention is as illustrated and described, it is to be understood that changes in the details of construction may be had which will fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:

1. A garment comprising a shirt and drawers open in front throughout its length and having an arcuate slit in its rear extending from the lower end thereof to an intermediate portion said slit providing a pair of leg sections for disposition around the leg of a wearer, the rear portion of one of the leg sections having an integral extension, a flap secured to the marginal rear portion of one of the leg sections for disposition across the slit and detachably connected to the rear portion of the other leg section, said flap extending forwardly and upwardly between the legs of a wearer and detachably connected to the front portions of the garment in a manner to constitute the crotch therefor, the extension disposed between the legs of the wearer and connected to the front portion of its respective leg section.

2. A garment comprising a shirt and drawers open in front throughout its length, said open front adapted to be detachably secured together in overlapping relation, said garment being further provided with an arcuate slit in its rear extending from its lower end to an intermediate portion thereof and providing leg sections for disposition around the leg of a wearer, an integral extension on one of the leg sections, gores secured to the rear portion of the other leg section ad acent the slit, a flap secured to said other leg section at r the rear thereof, and extending therefrom across the slit for detachable connection in overlapping relation on the first named leg section, said flap disposed longitudinally with one of the gores and stitched thereto, said flap extending forwardly and upwardly between the legs of a wearer in a manner to provide a crotch and detachably connected to the overlapping front portions of the garment adjacent the lower end thereof, the extension passing between the legs of the wearer and detachably connected to the front portion of its respective leg section.
