2 Claims.

This invention relates to a combination dress shirt and shorts, the general object of the invention being to form the lower end of the shirt with short legs, so that the shirt will combine 5 the features of an undergarment and shirt and the shorts will prevent bulging of the shirt and it is not necessary to wear underclothing, thereby providing comfort and coolness.

Another object of the invention is to provide a strip on the inner face of the bosom of the shirt to prevent the studs from contacting the body of the wearer.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:-

Figure l is a front View showing the invention in use.

Figure 2 is a rear View.

Figure 3 is a similar view, but showing the garment partly unbuttoned.

Figure 4 is a view of the bosom of the short, showing the strip attached thereto.

Figure 5 is a view showing the strip partly detached.

In these drawings, the letter A indicates the garment in its entirety and the numeral I indicates the body of the garment and the numeral 2 the legs thereof. As will be seen, the bottom portion of the shirt is formed to provide these legs so that the garment consists of the body part and the legs or shorts. The front part of the shirt is formed with the bosom 3 having holes 4 therein to receive the shirt studs and in order to prevent these studs from contacting the body of the wearer, I fasten a strip 5 at its ends to the inner face of the bosom part, as shown in Figures 4 and 5, so that parts of this strip will cover the inner ends of the studs.

A fly opening 1 is formed in the front of the garment and is closed by a button 8 or the like.

The rear of the garment is formed of two sections, the inner edges of which are adapted to overlap, as shown in Figures 2 and 3, and the opening formed by these two sections extends from the neckband to the crotch and one section is formed with an opening 9 which extends toward the side of the garment and the other section is formed with a flap part l0 for closing the opening. The overlapping edges of the two sections are detachably connected together by buttons H or the like which are preferably arranged, as shown in Figures 2 and 3.

Thus it will be seen that I have provided a combined shirt and shorts which can be easily and quickly put on and removed and by the use of this garment, undershirts and other undergarments are not needed, so that the wearer will be comfortable even in hot weather and the leg parts of the garment will prevent the shirt from bulging.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.

It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.

What is claimed is:-

1. A full dress shirt comprising a shirt portion having its lower end shaped to form shorts, the back of the garment being provided with a vertical opening extending from the top of the garment to the crotch thereof so as to divide the back of the garment into two sections, one section being formed with a recess therein extending from the edge of said vertical opening toward one side of the garment and from a point adjacent the waistline to the crotch thereof, the lower part of the recess gradually decreasing in width toward the crotch, the remaining section having a flap forming portion covering said recess, and fastening means for connecting the edges of said vertical opening together and for connecting said flap to the edges of said recess.

2. A full dress shirt comprising a shirt part and a pants part integrally connected, the back of said garment being provided with a vertical access opening extending from the top thereof to the crotch thereof, the front of said garment being devoid of an access opening above the waistline, one edge of said opening having a part below the waistline cut away to provide a laterally extending recesstapering in width at its lower end toward the crotch, said recess being relatively wide and uniform in width at its upper end, a flap on the remaining edge of said vertical access opening conforming in shape to and for closing said recess, horizontally spaced fastening means on the upper edge of said recess connecting the top of the flap to said upper edge, and other fastening means on the edge of said recess at the upper end of said tapering part of said recess securing a corresponding part of said flap.
