A further object of the invention is t provide a garment supporter, whichfwhen certain parts thereof become damaged may still be used.

It is a further object of the invention so to construct a garter that a cushioning pad is employed which pad is adjustable with respect to a limb encircling band.

Still a further object of the invention resides in the provision of a single plate adapted for attachment to a cushioning pad which plate provides for the attachment of the several detachable or disconnectable portions of the garment supporter.

With the above and other objects in view, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing, in which,

' The metallic plate 17 has an extended portion 22 which carries a lug 23', and upon its upper end said plate is provided with a lug or button 24 and adjacent its lower end with a similar lug or button 25. The lower end of the plate is provided with a slot :26 and and mounted in said slot there is a looped strap 27, thelower end of which has a button or stud 28. The upper end of this strap 27 is looped as at 29 and carries two looped fasteners 30 and 31, of which thelooped fastener 30 is the larger.

The device so far described is employed in y a the following manner.

The hose which is designated A in the drawing is passed over the stud 28 and the looped fastener 30 is engaged therewith 'in the usual manner. The limb encircling band 10 is next passed around the limb of the wearer and engaged withthe stud 23, the fastener 12 being employed for this purpose and the stud being engaged in the portion 13 thereof. With the parts in this position, it being understood. that the cushion and pad 14 is so adjusted upon the limb encircling band 10 that it lies immediately behind theplate 17, the hose will besupported and thelwearing of the device will be comfortable.

In some instances it may be desired to conthis construction it w ill be ap 'arent nect the garment supporter with an undergarment of the wearer and when so desired, a strap is employed. This strap has a looped fastener 36 which is adapted to engage the stud 2 1 and upon its opposite end said strap carries a fitting 87 to which is secured a strap 38 carrying a stud 39. Also carried by the strap 38 there is a looped fastener 10 which is adapted to engage with the stud 39 as best illustrated in Figure 1 in order to fasten; the strap 35to theundergarment B of the wearer.

As thus far described, it is apparentthat in addition to supporting a hose, the device may be employed to maintain in proper position anundergarment of the wearer.

The stud 25, provides for attaching the member 27- to the plate 17 in case said member should become ruptured, and this is accomplished merely by engagement of the looped fastener 31 with said stud 25, the member '27 then depending from the stud 25 instead of from the slot 26.

In Figure 5, I have illustrated a modified form of the invention, and in this fig- ,ure the reference character designates a belt which isadapted to encircle the waist of qajwearer, The belt 50 is similar to the'limb encircling memberlO, and is adapted to pass beneath a strap portion 51 formed in a cushioning pad 52. The cushioning pad 52 carriesa depending strap member 53 which in .turncarries a stud 54 with which. a looped fastener 55 is adapted to engage.

Any number of the cushioning pads may be I employed and any number of garments may besupported from the belt 50 merely by pro Viding. a cushioning pad for each garment to be supported from the belt.

From the foregoing it will be apparent that the present invention provides a new and im-- proved garment supporter which may be used in many difierent connections, and which 1n each manner of use is comfortable in use.

Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A garment supporter comprising a limb 1 encircling band, a cushion pad threaded upon said band and adjustable therealong, a plate carried by one end of said band and adapted to engage said cushion pad to limit movement of the pad in one direction along said band, and .a garment engaging and supporting member depending from said plate.
