RAZOR BLADE HOLDER Filed .July 21, 1952 INVENTOR dosage/7 Voqf ATTORNEY scription taken in connection Patented Feb. 28, 1933 RAZOR BLADE mama Application filed July 21,
The invention isa device for holding razor blades so that they may be used as a knife for various purposes and is so arranged that both sides of each edge are continuously held between two clamping members.
The object of the invention is to provide a device for holding razor blades so that the blade may readily be used as a knife.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device for holding razor blades which frictionally holds both sides of the blade continuously at each edge thereof.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device for holding razor blades which has only two parts.
A further object of the invention is to provide a device for holding razor blades which is formed of two pieces of material and so arranged that one piece of material is clamped in the other and the razor blade is clamped between the two pieces of material.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a device for holding razor blades which is provided withme'ans for locating and holding the blade in the proper position.
And a: still further object of the invention is to provide a device for holding razor blades which is of a comparatively simple and economical construction.
With these ends in view the invention embodies a back with projections thereon for locating a razor blade and flanges at the edges, and a plate adapted to be frictionally held in said flanges and also adapted to cooperate with a portion of the back to hold a razor blade. 7
Other features and advantages of the invention will appear from the following dewith the drawing, wherein:
Figure l is a Figure 2 is plate removed.
Figure 3 is a longitudinal section thru the device.
Figure 4 is a cross section thru the handle of the device.
Figure 5 is a similar section thru the blade holding portion of the device.
In the drawing the device is shown as it plan view of the device. I a similar View with the front slightly less than as indicated by the dotted 'lines5 shown in;

These projections locate the blade andhold it, in the proper position in the device. edges of the handle 1 are 'fiangesS which are formed as shown in Figure t-andit will be noted that these flanges are slightly tapered from the-point 9 forming the intersection of, the-handle with the portion at the end of the handle. These edges converge slightly from the point 9 to the point 10 and as the plate 2 is placed in the handle the'edges thereof will be'frictionally'heldby.

It will be understood that other changes may be made in the construction Without departing from the spirit of the invention. One of which changes may be in the shape or general design oftheedeviee, another may be in theuse of other means for locating the razor blade 'on the device, another may be in the use of other means for holding one part of the device in relation to the-other, and still another may be in the use of: other means for holding the razor blade inthe device. t
The construction will be readily understood from the .-foregoing-descniption. Inuse the-device be provided as shownvand iit ,r-Will'be noted thata razor on the projections (i and 7,1 and then theplate theblade and the edges thereof passingover the flanges 8 vand as (it. isforced -.,'into place it, Will frictionally, grip and hold sthenblade; again-st the-backzl.
