snow earn) 1.]
Application filed February 26, 1931; Serial 110415442,
This invention relates to improvements in a show-card, which is adapted particularly to display and carry a sanitary belt, and which is capable of being enclosed with the belt in a sanitary transparent wrapper, so that while the package is on display and further during handling thereof, in the course of being sold, its contents always remain in neat order upon the card and fully protected against soiling and contamination.
The invention has for its object to provide a show-card of the character described, which is extremely inexpensive to manufacture,
particularly eflicient in application, and which in addition to its neatness in appearance affords ample space for such advertisements and printed directions as may be necessary to accompany the particular display of merchandise.
I accomplish this object by means of a card, described in the following specification, set forth in the appended claims and illustratively exemplified in the accompanying drawing, in which, Figure 1 is a face elevational view of my improved show-card; Figure 2 is a sectional view thereof taken on lines 2--2 of Figure 1; and Figure 3 is an elevational view similar to that illustratively exemplified in Figure 1 except that the card is carrying and displaying a sanitary belt within a transparent wrapper.
Referring to the drawing, 10 denotes a card, comprising a rectangularly shaped piece of cardboard, the longer sides of which are provided with three slots 11, 12 and 13, the slots 11 and 13 being spaced from opposite ends substantially the same distance, while slots 12 are spaced more closely to slots 11 than to slots 13. Each slot 11 is disposed at an inclination projecting from the side of the card towards the adjacent end and longitudinal center line ofthe card. The other disposed directly opposite the corresponding thisparticular card receives and displays a sanitarybelt, comprising the usual bodybands 14: which project from the ends of the frontand back tabs 15 at an outwardly disposed angle so as to pass through the inclined slots 11 to the back of the card'and emerging again through slots 12, pass downwardly over the face of the card to the slots 13. The bands 14 are necessarily of some length and must be folded several times to shorten their length when applied to a card and it is simply necessary in order to hold the folds at their lower ends to draw the latter through the slots 13 without further fastening means at the rear of the card.
It will be clear that after placing the sanitary belt in display position upon the card, the latter is placed in a wrapper of transparent material 16, through which the con tents may be seen but not open to actual contact with other things a condition of the utmost importance particularly with this class of merchandise. c
Having described my invention in detail and set forth the manner in which the same is used, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In combination a display card comprising a rectangular member provided along opposite sides with corresponding groups of slots, the slots adjacent one end of the card being cut at inclinations directed from the sides towards the adjacent end and a sanitary belt displayed on said card comprising front and back tabs depending from waist embrac ing bands attached at their ends to the tabs, the latter being arranged on the face of the card and the bands diverging from the tabs over the front of the card to enter the inclined slots to the back of the card and thereafter being disposed along the sides, emerging to the front again through the first group of slots and then to the back through the second group of slots. 7
2. In combination, a sanitary belt having front and back tabs depending from waist embracing bands and a display card, comprising a rectangular piece of cardboard, each longer side thereof being provided with three slots slots in the other side, two of the slots being disposed parallel to the ends of the card and one of the latter slots being adjacent one end and other being adjacent the opposite end, the third slot being disposed between an end of the cardand one of the parallel slots and inclined from the side towards the adjacent end, the center space in the card accommodating tabs of the belt and the slots the bands which diverge from the tabs pass first through the inclined slots to the back of the card5 emerging again to the face of the latter through the intermediate slots and thereafter passing along the sides toenter the end parallel slots and terminate at the back of the I card. I a
In testmony, whereof'he hasaifixed his signature.
