In the forms of our invention as illustrated in'Figures 1 to'4 the units, when in connected assembly, are arranged side by side whereas in the embodiment-[ of our invention as illustrated in Figure 5, the units U are adapted to swing one upon the other and held in assembledrelation by a coacting and preferably removable pintle 7.
From the foregoing description it is thought to be obvious that a box constructed in accordance with our invention is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled and employed, and it' will also be obvious that our invention is susceptible of some change andmodification without departing from the principles and spirit thereof and for this reason we do not wish to be understood as limiting ourselves to the precise arran ement and formation of the several parts erein shown in carrying out our invention in practice except as hereinafter claimed. We claim y A box for dispensing cigarettes and the like comprising two substantially duplicate units having side walls, a trackway extendin along the side wall of one unit and disposed outwardly thereof, a plate fixedly carried by aside wall of the second unit interlocking with the trackway of the first unit; said plate allowing one unit to readily slide with respect to the other, the trackway being substantially C-form in cross section and secured along its intermediate portion to the side wall, the plate having its central portion anchored to its side wall with the longitudinal marginal portions of the plate free.
In testimony whereof we aflix our signatures.
