SIDNEY STRANDGAARD, OEBUFFALO, NEW YORK.
IMPROVEMENT IN TICKET-CASES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 186,381, dated January 16, 1871; application filed September 1, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SIDNEY STRANDGAARD, of the city of Buffalo, county of Erie, and
' State of New York, have invented a mechanpurpose of inserting the tickets, its sizeto be regulated by the size and number of tickets it may be desired to use in it at a time.
1n the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a longitudinal section 5 Fig. 2, a front view; Fig. 3, a top plan view; Fig. 4, a detached view of the slotted plate, and Fig. 5 a perspective view.
A represents the case or box, to which is attached, either by hinge or clasp, (in the drawing, hinge on one end and clasp on the other,) the door or side, that opens, B, for the purpose of inserting the tickets. After the tickets are placed in the box, the plate F is placed over them and the door B closed, thus bringing the springs g g g to press upon the top of the plate F, which keeps the tickets level and smooth, and pressed tightly and constantly upon the toothed spring E, which, when pressed forward by the thumb, acting upon the thumbpiece d on the outside of the box, forces a ticket forward by reason of the teeth entering into it, to and through the slot 0, which is made just large enough to admit of but one ticket passing through it at a time. The slot in the plate F is for the purpose of not dulling the teeth on the spring E, when all the tickets are out of the box.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a ticket-box, A, having a slot, 0, the com bination of the toothed spring E, movable by means of thumb-piece d, and the slotted and detachable plate F, with cover B, provided with springs g, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
