GEORGE COON, OF INDEX, WASHINGTON.
CARD-CASE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed May 7 1908.
Patented Dec. 1, 1908. Serial No. 431,385.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE CooN, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Index, in the county of Snohomish and State of Washington, have invented new and useful Improvements in Card-Cases, of which the following is a specification.
This invention is an improved ticket holder, a novel ticket holder in which a num ber of tickets may readily be placed, and from which said tickets may be discharged, one at the time.
It is an object of the invention to provide a novel device of this character wherein means are carried by the feeder for engaging the tickets.
With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in the construction and combination of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings:Figure 1 is a top plan view of the ticket holder constructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is an end view of the same. Fig. 3 is a sectional View taken on a plane extending centrally and transversely through the ticket holder. Fig 4 is a sectional view taken on a plane extending centrally and longitudinally through the ticket holder. Fig. 5 is a top plan view of the drawer with the follower applied thereto. Fig. 6 is a sectional view taken on a plane extending centrally and longitudinally through the drawer and follower, and Fig. 7 is a detail perspective view of the feeder.
The casing 1 has rounded side edges and the said casing is further provided with longitudinal uideways 2, their purpose being described further on. The rear end 3 of the casing is open while at the front 4 is provided with a discharge opening 5. In the rear open end of the casing is inserted a ticket holder drawer 6, having inturned flanges 7, said flanges limiting any lateral movement of the follower 8 and the stamped out lugs 9, formed in the rear face of the drawer prevents any longitudinal movement of the said drawer by the leaf spring 10, and 10 abutting against the under-surface of said lugs after the drawer has been inserted. The leaf spring 11 is disposed intermediate the latter mentioned. The said leaf springs are stamped out of the follower 8, and by the v follower stationary construction and operation of the springs am. flanges 7 as above described, holds the in the casing while the tickets are being fed out through the opening 5 by the feeder 12. The feeder is inserted in the rear end of the casing and button 14 is inserted in a slot 13 and then into the aperture l5, centrally disposed in the feeder, thus securing the feeder in the casing for reciprocating or sliding movement. The feeder 12 is provided with a plurality of struck-up prongs 16 and 17 as more plainly shown in *ig. 7 of the drawings. It will be observed that the prongs are disposed adjacent the edges 17 and longitudinally of the feeder 12 and adapted to engage the side edges of the tickets to insure the ticket to be evenly guided out through the opening 5, while the prong 17 which is disposed intermediate the prongs 16, and adjacent one end of the feeder, engages an intermediate portion of the ticket and prevents any bulging of such ticket while being withdrawn from the holder. Arranged in one end of the feeder 12, is a plurality of notches 19 adapted to engage the lugs 20 when the feeder is in operation. The lugs 20 are formed on the inner side of the top wall 21 of the casing at a point adjacent the opening 5.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the construction and mode of operation of the invention should be understood without a further extended description.
Changes in form, proportions and minor details of construction may be made within the scope of the claims, without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages thereof.
Having thus fully described and illustrated my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters-Patent is I 1. In a ticket holder, the combination of a casing, a drawer slidably mounted within the casing and having inturned flanges, lugs formed in the drawer adjacent one end thereof, a follower carried by the drawer, springs arranged integrally in the follower, said springs abutting under the said lugs and preventing longitudinal movement of said follower, a feeder slidably mounted within the casin and means for operating said feeder.
2. n a ticket holder, the combination of a casing having a discharge opening at one end j discharge opening, and means secured to the thereof, a drawer slidably mounted within 1 feeder for operating the same. 10 the casing and having inturned flanges, lugs In testimony whereof I alfix my signature formed integrally in the drawer, a follower in presence of two witnesses.
carried by the drawer, springs carried by the GEORGE COON. follower, a feeder slidably mounted within Witnesses:
the casing, prongs arranged in the feeder and SAM HUNT,
adapted to force the ticket out through the ANGUS A. GILLIs.
