The arrangement of the parts thus far describedfcomprises the lower receptacle or the ashtray assembly, and to this assembly is adapted to be secured an article holder assembly. This latter assembly consists of a pair of leaf plates 24 and 26 preferably rectangular in form. These leaf plates like theelements of the entire assembly are also formed ofstrip stock material. 2 v a 1 The plates 24' and 26 are: spaced from each other in parallel relation by means of spacer elements 50 and 52. These spacer elements are identical in form and also are formed of strip'stock material. Thesespacer elements 50 and 52 include a transverse portion 54 .and side flanges 56 and 58 adapted to be respectively welded tot-he lower edges of the plates 24 and 26. Eachof these spacer elemerits are provided with a flat upper surface 60 adapted to support the edges of the article supported between plates 24 and 26. The lower edges of these spacer elements are inclined at 34 at an angle complementary to the angle between the face of the cross bar 25 and the inclined edge 34 of the cross member 24 wherebv these spacer elements 50 and 52 may be nested in position with the edges 34'ab'utting the'edges 34'. 7
