An object of this 'invention is to provide a display sign which is so constructed that the frame or body of the sign may be permanf ently secured in the desired location and the display portion changed when desired.

Another object of'this invention is to provide a device of this kindv embodyingl the use of removable inserts or display members v which are adapted to be securely held within the frame of the sign without the use of bolts, clips or the like.

A. further object of the invention is to provide a device of this kind which is readily and cheaply manufactured.

The outer frame section 11 is provided so as to couple a pair of frames 12 together so that an insertible sign or display member may be positioned at the desired location which will display the desired articles or material on each face thereof. Where only one frame section 12 is used or desired, the outer frame section 11 may be dispensed with.

In the use of this device, the frame sections 11 and 12 may be mounted in the desired loca tion where it is desired to display or advertise certain articles or material and the inner display sheet 21 provided with the suitable indicia of a permanent nature. The insert 14 may be painted a suitable color and the desired indicia 15 positioned thereon so as to advertise or display the articles which it is desired to sell and this insert 14 may then berpassed upwardly from the bottom of the frame 12 and slipped into this frame through the slot 19 at vthe bottom of the frame.

It is, of course, understood that `various changes and modifications may be made in the details of construction and design of the above specifically described embodiment of this invention without departing from the spirit thereof, such changes and modifications being restricted only by the scope of the following claims.

I claim 1. An advertising device of the character described, comprising a frame having a rabbeted inner edge portion constituting a guide, a back secured to the frame, said frame having a bottom member provided with an inwardly offset outer face portion and outwardly and downwardly inclined slots in the side members thereof, and a removable placard positioned in said rabbetec portion.

2. An advertising device of the character described, comprising a rectangular-shaped trame having rabbeted side, top and bottom members, a back secured to said frame, said bottom member having an outer face inward ly oiiset from the outer face of said side and top members, said side members adjacent thc lower ends thereof having downwardly and outwardly inclined slotted portions communicating with the rabbeted inner edge and disposed at each end of the oiiset face of said bottom member, and an insertible placard adapted to be moved upwardly through said slotted side members whereby to position the placard within the rabbeted portion.
