IMPROVEMENT IN WRITING-DESKS Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1 81,449, dated August 22,1876; application filed June 12, 1876. I

A is the hexagonal case containing a sliding table, B, in each alternate space, which is closed by the curved top D, and each table carries a set of pigeon-holes, book-racks, &c., E, on the back part to be drawn forward for convenience with the table, and also shoved back, so that things lying onthe table will not have to be removed when it is shoved back,

as they would if the rack E was made stationary in theposition for use, and the table made to slide under it. Frepresents thetower above the case, which is divided horizontally into two or more sections by floors G, and each section contains a revolving book-rack, H,

turning on wheels I, so as to be easily worked, the wheels being mounted in the floors, and the racks being 'provided'with a ring, J, running on the wheels between flanges thereof,

which keep the rings in place. The cells of these racks have a door, K, which swings open and then slides in over the cell, as shown in I Fig. 2, to be held open and toavoid obstructing the revolving of the case by contact with the posts of the tower, as they would do if.
