greatly to increase the wear and tear of saidvarious elements and, therefore, of reducing the time during which the machine maybe .employed.
The object of the present invention 1s to construct a strong and simple machine allowing of working continuously therewith, i. e.-
without stops for discharging purposes. 7 Such machine is applicable tog-all industries in which mixingofmaterials has to beef.-
: V, fected and more particularly in the manufactllreof concrete and mortar. I The machine according to the nventlon 1s 2 formed of two vessels, keyed on one and the same shaft which is actuated to rotate, said vessels leavingbetween them a space, which may be closed byflmeans of a ring adapted s to slide on one of said vessels, the movement 7 of said ring in one, direction allowing the discharge of the material" contained in the vessels without stopping-the rotary movement of same. e m e The invention will be described hereafter with reference to the figuresof the accomanying drawings, which illustrate, merely y'way' of examp1e,.an embodiment of the invention. e Fig. 1 is an elevation view of the rotary 4o'mixing machine; j J
Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional view" along the axial plane of themachine.
With reference to these figures, a designates the first vessel of the rotary mixer and b the second vessel, both said vessels being keyed may also be obtained mechanically, any suit on said shaft, a central feeding opening in 7 one of said vessels, a ring'space of constant width vfor discharging purposesbetweenthe upon the shaft f, which is actuated to rotate by any suitable means' "A ring 0 is mounted to slide on the vessel a and to close the spaceleft between the two vessels a and b or to open same at will; Thisring a is shown to be 0perated with a hand lever e, a set of transmission levers (land the transverse shaft h. The levers d are linked to a pair of swivelling I arms, the free ends of which bear diametrically opposed rollers engaging an annular guide-way formed with two parallel ribs I adapted to engage the outside on ring c. I NVhen the ring a is moved towards the left, the I material contained in the vessels is discharged through the space uncovered between said two vessels. The ring 0 maybe formedof one part or of a plurality of parts assembled to one another. l
-The material to be treated is fed into the mixingmachine through the opening 9, which 5. is formed round and concentric with the.
shaft 7. In order to preserve the driving shaft'f agalnst damage, protecting sleevesz' have been arrangedaround it.
Itis obvious that the motion of the ring 0 able mechanical or electrical motor being used to bring it about,"either when voperated or automatically. l
It-must be understood that the invention is not restricted to the form of construction hereabove described and illustrated, butthat various'modifications of construction maybe i brought thereto to suit the requirements, without departing from the scope of the invention. v V A lclaimi 1 V In a rotary mixing machine, the combination of a horizontal rotatable shaft, two-bowl f shaped vessels facing one. another and keyed edges of both bowl-shaped, vessels, a cylin-v drical hoop slidably mounted on the outer circumference of one of said bowl-shaped vessels, said hoop being movable parallel to the shaft and adapted to tightly abut against the front edge of the second one of said bowl- 5 shaped vessels so as to tightly close said ring space, an annular guide-Way on the outside of said hoop, two diametrically opposed rollers engaging said guide-Way, a pair of swivelling arms carrying said rollers, a hand lever for operating said swivelling arms, a transverse shaft carrying said hand lever, and means transmitting the oscillating movement of said transverse shaft to said swivelling arms.
In testimony whereof I signed hereunto my name.
CONSTANT FORVILLE.
