Abstract

Scallops dredged up are sepd. from stones, broken shells, and undersized prod. by feeding through two coaxial cylindrical screens and rotating together on an inclined axis, throughput being pref. aided by a scroll vane. The inner cylinder has parallel convergent slits e.g. formed between trapezoidal channel members through which the scallops slide from cascading rubble together with small stones broken shells etc. which escape via perforations and slits in outer cylinder, the prod. being collected at lower end, at an annular gap between cylinders.
