(01. 103-140 This invention relates to a circulating pump for pasty masses, especially its object to provide. a construction which is simple and reliable in service and not endangered even by the stones contained in the concrete.
The invention consists of a cylindrical casing with a cylindrical piston rotating therein and with slide plates adapted to be oscillated out of the piston and serving as conveying means, The piston is concentrically located in the casing and the slide plates are carried within recesses or indentations which are formed in the periphery concrete. It has for slides and carry a drical discs which engage on the slide plates carry outwardly projecting pins fixed on the side walls of the piston. On at least one of these pins a control lever for the slide plates may be mounted.
The invention contemplates oscillating each slide by a spring controlled lever which is attached to one end of the slide to rotate with the pump piston and which is operated by a cam or guide track on the pump casing against which one of its ends is resiliently held. The resiliency in the means for oscillating the slides helps to avoid damage to the same from stones wedgins in the casing and allows the slide and its control elements to be made of comparatively light gauge or light weight material.
The slide plate has preferably the shape of a plate extending over the passage cross section of the pump and curved and mounted in the piston so that in the opening position it fits snugly in the outer circumference of the piston. is journalled in the piston preferably by lateral discs made inonepiece and connected therewith.

The rotary slides con- I sist of slide plates 1 extending over the passage cross section of the pump and carrying at their ends discs 8 from which pins 9 extend which are jcurnalled in brackets l0 fixed on the piston. The outer side H of the rotatable discs 'I are curved so that they fit flush into the circumference of the piston 2 .when the slide'is in the open position shown in the lower portion of Fig. 1.
Two-armed levers I2 are fixed on one side of the pump on the journalled pins 9 of the rotary roller l3 on the outer arm. whereas a pull spring I4 is hooked onto the end of the other arm, the other end of the-spring being fixed on the piston at Hi. The rollers 13 roll on a guide rail l6 fixed on the outer side of the stationary pump casing by screws l1.
The operation of the pump is as follows:
The material is fed to the pump by a funnel l8 and drops into the conveying channel I9 of the pump which isbordered by the stationary pump casing and by the piston 2. The material is then displaced by a rotary slide rotating with the piston when the plate 1 is in the transverseposition relativeto the outlet 20 as shown in Fig. 1 at least up to the moment-when the plate I. slide has shut off the connection oi .the space behind the plate of the rotary slide in front of it with the admission point la. The slide is then opened by the cooperation of the two-armed lever roller 13 and the control rail l5, and the plate I! arrives finally in the extreme open position shown in the bottom portion of Fig.- 2, in which the passage to the outlet 20 is free. when the slide,
i. e. the plate I, has passed along the stri p r 2| fixed on the casing wall, it is returned into its the action of the spring l4 according to the construction of the control rail, and the operation begins anew.
The invention is evidently not restricted to the embodiment illustrated, as this may be constructively modified within the range of the invention; for instance more than two rotary slides may be mounted in the piston and special devices may be provided at the different points for a perfect packing of-- theconveying channel against the" outer side, for instanceon the side. discs 8.
I claim: 1. Circulating. pump for concrete and other pasty material compri'singa casing with a cylindrical bore extending therethrough from side to side, a cylindrical rotor arranged in the cylindrical bore concentric therewith and forming an an- 12 with the a nular pumping chamber between the cylindrical surfaces oi the casing and rotor, an inlet port to said chamber or cross-section substantially equal arranged in a peripheral recess in said rotor, said blade being oscillatable between a position in which it projects into contact with the cylindrical bore of the casing and a position in which it is retracted within the periphery of the rotor, side flanges on said blade closing circular openings in the side flanges of the rotor, cam and resilient operating means Ior'retracting and extending said pump blade.
2. Circulating pump according to claim 1, in which the blade is pivoted interniediately 01. its depth about an axis lying in the circumference of the rotor.
3. Circulating pump for concrete and other pasty material comprising a casing with a cylindrical bore extending therethrough from side to side, a cylindrical rotor arranged in the cylina,sss,112
drical bore concentric therewith and forming an annular pumping chamber between the cylindrical surfaces of 'the casing and rotor, an inlet port to said chamber of cross-section substan-' tially equal to that oi. the annular chamber, an outlet port from said chamber of similar crosssection spaced circumferentially of said chamber from said inlet port, means in said chamber between the inlet and outlet ports for preventing direct movement ofv materialirom one to the other of the ports, side flanges on said rotor closing the sides of the annular chamber, at least one pump blade arranged in a peripheral recess in said rotor, vsaid blade being oscillatable between a position in which it projects into contact-with the cylindrical bore of the casing and a position in which it is retracted within the periphery of the rotor, side flanges on said blade closing circular openings in the side flanges oi the rotor; cam and resilient operating means for retracting and extending said pump blade, said means including an actuating lever pivoted intermediately of its length to the pump blade, a roller on oneend of said lever, a cam track on the casing engaging said roller, and a spring connected between the rotor and the other end of said lever.
