IMPROVEMENT IN WASH-BOARDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 179,085, dated June 20, 1876; application filed -March 31, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE E. WRIGHT, of Benton Harbor, in the county of Berrien and State of Michigan, have invented an Improved Orimp for Zinc Wash-Boards, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying illustration or drawing, is a full, clear, and exact description, in which- Figure l is a vertical section through the center, showing a cross-section of the corrugated plates, and the form and arrangement of the corrugations a a a. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section.
The plane of section of Fig. 1 is shown by the dotted line drawn across'Fig. 2, and likewise .the plane of section of Fig. 2 is shown by the dotted line drawn across Fig. 2.
The novel feature of this wash-board is in the form and arrangement of the corrugations, and beyond this, nothing is claimed as'new.
The wash-board may be constructed with. one side only made for use, .or with both, as
grooves in the body of the wash-board, the
sides of the plates being held by the grooves on the inside of the. side-pieces, into which they fit, or the; plates may be attached in any way in common use. No novelty is claimed in the way the plates are attached, the construction of the side pieces, top w rail, and body of the wash-board, as they are similar to those in common use.
The improvement consists of, a combination of corrugations or ridges in pairs, eflected by GEO. R. WRIGHT.
