Inventor. 2 9 %M$Wuwf NFEIERS, PHOTO-QTHOGRAPHER, WASHINGTON n O UN TED STATES PATENT QFFIGE.
WARREN. DREW, OF BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
' IMPROVEMENT IN HAIR-CRIMPERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 177,926, dated May 30, 1876 application filed March 2, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WARREN F. DREW, of- Boston, Massachusetts, have invented an Improved Hair-Crimper, of which the following is a specification: V
The object of my invention is to provide an implement for crimping the hair.
In the drawings, Figure 1 shows my crimper in use, and Fig. 2 the method of securing the braid b to .the part A, by means of the piece of metal 0, and Fig. 3 shows the body A of the crimper.
I make my improved hair-crimper as follows: The body A of the hair-crimper is made of wire, in the form shown in the drawing. A small piece of elastic braid, b, is then doubled .over the extremity a. This is held securely in place by the piece of metal 0, which is put on over the rubber braid, placed as described, and when put on, it is fastened bythe two 0 parts d d beingforced down upon the braid. On the opposite side of the part b is the book 6. At the lower end of the braid is aring, f.
When the crimper is in use, the hair, after being wound around the part A, as shown in the drawing, is kept in place by means of the braid I), brought around over the hair, and se cured by the ring f, placed in the hook e.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
. The improved hair-crimper, consisting of the part A and elastic braid b, fastened t0- gether by means of the piece of metal 0, the braid b having the ringf at its free end, whereby it may be secured to the book 0, substantially as above described.
