Description

D. SHAMBERGER.
TICKET-HOLDER. No. 177,165. Patented May 9,1876
ATTORNEYS.
N-PETERS. PNOTO-LITNOGRAPNER. WASHINGTON. D C.
' UNITED STATES PATENT QFFIGE DANIEL SHAMBERGER, OF BEOKLEYSVILLE, MARYLAND.
IMPROVEMENT IN TICKET-HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent 0. 177,165, dated May 9, 1876; application filed March 25, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DANIEL SHAMBERGER, of Beckleysville, in the county of Baltimore and State of Maryland, have invented a new and Improved Ticket-Holder, of which the following is a specification:
1n the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a side view, and Fig. 2 a front. view, of my improved ticket-holder.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The object of my invention is to furnish to the traveling public an improved ticket-holder for attaching railroad and other tickets in con venient manner to the coat, hat, or other article; and the invention consists of a slotted holder applied by a screw-pin, and securing the ticket by a clamping thumb-screw.
1n the drawing. A represents a slotted ticket-holder, that is made of artificial ivory, bone, wood, or other material, and finished in suitable ornamental manner, to form a neat attachment in the nature of a breastpin. The slotted ticket-holder is provided at the back with a spiral pin, B, that screws into the coat or other article, and is thereby securely retained thereon. The ticket is inserted into the slotted recess of the holder A, and firmly clamped therein by a thumb-screw, O, passing through the front part of the holder. The ticket is thus tightly and securely retained in the holder without danger of loss, and conveniently exhibited forinspection when applied to the coat, hat, or other article of clothes where it is readily seen by the conductor.
Having thus described my invention, I claim'as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A ticket-holder composed of a recessed button or holder, having a spiral screw-pin at the back or under side, and a ticketclamping thumb-screw at the front part, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
DANIEL SHAMBERGER.
