IMPROVEMENT IN STILTS.V
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 176,779, dated May 2, 1876; application led March 30, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN S. EBERT, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Stilts,
which consists in the peculiar manner by which the foot-rest is made adjustable and affixed at any desired height, all of which is clearly set below upward, While the ends of the ferrule which form the vtenon are made tapering in the reverse direction in such a manner that the foot-rest wedges down on the ferrule, whereby the fer-rule is clamped tight around sta' a at any desired height.
I claim- An adjustable stilt, consisting of the ootrest b, provided with a tapering groove and open ferrule, c, the ends forming a tapered tenon corresponding to said groove, in conibination with staff a, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
