This .lllVQ-llllOll relates to a novelty noise maker.
An object of the invention is to provide a megaphone or other sound modifying device adapted to have a noise maker arrangel therein, whereby varying intonations of sound may 1 e secured by gently moving the palm of the hand over the openings in the sound modifying device.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description.

Figure 3 is a detail sectional view taken substantially on line 33 of Figure Referring to the dra rings the numeral indicates a sound modifying device, prefer ably in the shape of a megaphone- The megaphone is preferably formed of a single piece of ca dboard or similar 1 v.te ial and arranged with the edges 11 and 12 thereof in overlapping relation. The edges may be glued in order to insure a suitable shape for the megaphone and rivets 13 or the like extending through both edges may also be utilized to hold the together. A suitable mouth piece i l preferably formed of wood, may be inserted over the narrow end of the phone substantially as shown in Figure 1.

As clearly shown in Figures 1 and 2, the inwardly ext nding portion of the member 17 is adapted to have a sound making device secured thereto. Any suitable sound making device may be used and as shown a hollow tubular member 18 preferably formed of wood and having a small piece of rubber or other suitable material 19 arranged transversely across one end thereof, is adapted to be secure e to the neck of the balloon.
The operation of the device is believed to be apparent. The member 1'? adapted to be inflated by blowing into the end of the noise maker as will be understood. After the balloon has been inflated sufficiently the palms of the hands are adapted to be placed over either or both openings in the megaphone 10. By gently moving the hands up and down over the openings varying intonations in sound ill be emitted from the device.
The megaphone itself may also be used inc. p. 'tly of the noise mal'ing device and the need not be removed for that purnose.

It is to be understood that the form of the invention herewith shown and described is to he tahen preferrec amples of the same and that various changes in the shape, size, and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the subjoined claims.
I claim:
1. In combination, a sound modifyin member havin open ends and an apert: intermediate its ends, a sound making devic arr nged in said member, and an lllfl ltilbl", member carried by Sitl device and ext-end.- ing through said aperture providing means for causing sounds to be emitted from said device into said sound modifying member, said sounds being variable in tone and intensity by intermittently closing and opening the ends of said modifying member.
2. In combination, a sound modifying member having its ends open and being pro vided with an aperture intermediate its ends an inflatable member having a portion extending through said aperture and adapted to contain a fluid, and a sound making; device secured to said inflatable member Within said sound modifying member and operable to produce sounds upon the escape of fluid from 10 said inflatable member, the sounds produced being capable of Variations in tone and intensity by intermittently closing either of the open ends of said sound modifying member.
