IMPROVEMENT IN TABLE-LEAF SUPPORTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 175,229. dated March 21, 1876 application filed January 28, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ELI J WOLFROM, of Washingtonville, in the county of Mahoning and State of Ohio, have invented a new and Improved Table- Leaf Supporter; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forining a part of this specification, in which- Figure l is an end elevation; Fig. 2 a botfrom view.
The invention relates to means of supporting hinged table-leaves so that the support will be automatically thrown into bracing position by the act of raising the leaf, and at the same time effectively locked against the possibility of displacement.
A represents a table-top, having the leaf B hinged at b, and C an auxiliary hinge, at whose end c. is hinged the arm D. The latter locks in the notch c of a keeper, E, which is fastened to the bottom ot' tableleaf B, while a loop-spring, F, attached at the rear to keeper E, bears with its frontv The combination of pivoted arm D, keeperblock E, attached to the leaf, hinge C, made fast to table-frame, and a loopspring, F, secured to the keeper, all as shown and described, to support the part next to the leaf and relieve the leaf itself of friction'.
