My invention relates to improvements in fuel injectors for internal combustion engines and more particularly to those adapted to inject liquid fuel, such as oil, into the cylinders of internal combustion engines.
An object of my invention is to providea fuel injector wherein the fuel passages thereof are readily formed in the manufacture.
Another object of my invention is to provide a fuel injector whereby fuel supplied is injected into the cylinder of engine as a spray.
Another object of my invention is to obtain means whereby the very narrow fuel passages of an injector are easily and positively formed in the fuel valve devices of the engines above specified.
A further object of my invention is to obtain such means that the ignition and combustion of fuel oil can take place in a complete and favorable manner.
A still further object of my invention is to provide an improved fuel valve device which can readily be applied to any unit of internal combustion engine without the necessity of considerable reconstruction or change.
Other objects and particularities of 111 said invention will be made clear in the fo lowing description with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein Fig. 1 is an elevation of a valve device embodying my improved fuel injector, partly in section and partly cut off.

Fig. 6 is an underside View of that part shown in Fig. 5.
Referring now to the drawings, the valve device in Figs. 1 to 3 comprises a fuel valve 1 perpendicular to that of a cylindrical form and a seat member 2 adapted to cooperate with the valve 1. The seat member is substantially of an inverted conical form and adapted torest and to be held within a part 3 of the casing of the device. The part 3 has an inside wall of a conical form and adapted to oil-tightly fit the conical surface of the member 2,. and also has an opening 6 at the underside thereof, which opening is to open to the cylinder ofan 1n-' ternal combustion engine to which is applied the valve device.
The opening of the part 3 is substantially shut by the member 2 except a plurality of extremely narrow ports or passages as will-hereinafter be disclosed.
The member 2 comprises three parts a, b and c. The part a has a seat portion for the valve 1 and a central port 4. therein, while the parts Z1 and 0 have symmetrical forms to each other and adapted toconstitute the conical portion of the member 2, when coupled. The conical surface formed by these two parts coupled is adapted to oil-tightly fit the inside wall surface of the part 3. the opposing faces of the parts 6 and c are provided with curvedgrooves 5 which are to open to the cylinder of an internal combustion engine to which the device is applied.
The fuel oil supplied under pressure through a fuel supply port 7 is, when the Valve 1 opens, injected as a sprayinto the cylinder through the above traced passages.
The valve 1 may be actuated by any suitable means which are not illustrated because they do not constitute a part of the invention.
' Figs. 4-6 illustrate a modification of my invention, wherein member 9 has a plurality of ports or passages 10 starting at a central depression 11 thereof below the seat portion, for the valve 15, of the member 9, running downwards at an angle to the axis of'the valve through a plurality of ports radiating therefrom, and ending at a circumferential groove 12 provided in the member 9. In communication with'the groove 12 are provided a plurality of radiating grooves 13 in the surface of the member 9, which grooves open to the cylinder of the engine and providing with continuous communications or passages for the fuel oil from the valve tip into the cylinder. Both or either of the circumferential groove 12 and the radiating grooves 13 ma be providedin the inside wall surface of the part 14, instead of providing in the surface of the member 9.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that what I claim is 1.
