IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED PADS AND COLLAR-FASTENERS Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. [68,781, dated October 11, 1875; application filed September 20, 1875.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, AIME RAGINE, of Fort Wayne, in. the county of Allen and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Pads and Collar-Fasteners for Horses; and 1 do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and'to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a combined horse-collar pad and fastening, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to de-'. scribe its construction and operation, refermetal posts, which are slightly curved inward, and fastened to the plate and pad by riveting or other suitable means, thus also firmly uniting said plate and pad together. In the ends of the collar B are made suitable holes for the passage of the posts D D, which thus project above the collar, and a key, G, of leather or other suitable material, is then passed through slots a a in the posts, whereby the parts are held together.
By simply removing the key G the pad and attachments can be easily separated from the collar.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination, with a horse-collar, of a pad, A, metal plate C, slotted posts D D, and key G, all substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
