My invention relatesto combination outer garments andparticularly to work garments ordinarily known as coveralls, and has for an object thereof to providea garment-which will be comfortable to wear and whicl rmay be readily adjusted to fit the wearer after shrinkage, due to washing, or otherwise- A further object of the invention-resides in providing an outer garment having a 10 trouser portion and a coat portion connected together at the waist line, said coat portion being bloused along the back and to further provideinside elastic straps connected to the waistband of the trouser portion at the rear thereof and to the shoulder seams of the coat portionof the garment, whereby the trouser portion at the back may be supported through the medium of said straps independently of the bloused hack ofthe coat portion.

With the foregoing and other obj ects inview whichwillappear the following description, the invention resides in the novel cornbrnation and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed.

In the drawings Fig. 1 is an elevational view of anouter garment with a part of the front section of the coat portion of the garment turned back to illustrate the applicationof my invention thereto.

Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of the garment shown in Fig. 1 with the coat portion closed and illustrating the arrangeis placed upon the person of the wearer.

With the ordinary type of combination outer garments or coveralls, considerable discomfort occurs when the garment is selected at the time of purchase to properly lit the wearer, and an appreciable amount of shrinkage takes place after the garment has been washed. Such shrinkage usually results in that the garment becomes too small to fit the wearer and must usually be discarded, which has had the effect of greatly reducing the demand for a one-piece or combination outer work garment, or the so-called coveralls. As best seen in Fig. 2, the back 16 of the coat portion 11 is constructed considerably longer than is the usual practice so that the same comes fully bloused, as designated at 20, to lie freely upon the back of the wearer when the garment is properly applied.

21 and 22, whereby the upper ends of said straps are detachably secured to the shoulders of the garment.

In the use of the garment, thelength of the straps 21 is adjusted through the clasps 23 so that the garment hangs freely and properly slack in the back 16, which gives freedom of movement to the user and makes the garment particularly comfortable to Wear. The invention is particularly advantageous in that it provides a'siinple and effective garment for compensating for shrinkage due to Washing and also causes the garment a) be 30 exceptionally easy and comfortable to wear.

Having described my invention, what' I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is: a i

A combination onter garment comprising a trouser portion, a coat portion bloused at theback and connected to saidtrouser portion at the waist line, two upwardly extend ing tabs secured inside of the garment at the waist line, one beinglocated on one side and one on the opposite side of the medial line of the backof said garment, downivardly extend ingtabs secured to the inside of the garment at the shoulder portions thereof, said tabs respectively pairing with one of said first tabs, elastic straps, one for each pair of tabs, the straps havin fastening means atthe ends thereof, 'nd the tabs havin fastening means complementing the fastening means of the straps, said straps, when attached to said tabs, serving to support the back of the trbuscr portion independently of theback of the coat F portion. a e In testimony whereof I have aflixed my signature to this specification.
