MILK-BOTTLE GAP.

Application filed April 20, 1925. Serial No. 24,598.

My invention relates to bottle cap and covers, wherein it is desired to provide a cap for a milk bottle which has means for indicating the Wants of the customer by a simple indicating disk means associated with the cover.

It is also a feature of myinvention to provide means for holding tickets secured to the cap so they will not become easily disengaged therefrom and to obviate the necessity of putting the tickets in the bottle which is a very unsatisfactory P13017168. This holding means is also adaptable for holding memoranda which can be written out by the housewife, or for holding money if the customer desires to pay cash for the order.

My invention also includes milk bottle cap which can be collapsed into a flat state so that it can be packed for shipment or can be sent through the mail approximately flat. and taking up very little space.

All of the features and advantages together with other objects of my invention will be more fully set forth in the specification and drawing.

In the drawings my bottle cap A is of a very simple construction, being provided with bottle neck engaging ears 10 which are formed integral with the top or cover portion 11 of the cap A. The cover 11 is made of any suitable material and is not of a spring metal but of a nature so that it can be comparatively easily bent.

The ears 10 are adapted to be folded under the depending flange 12 of the cover 11 in a manner so that the cover A may be made up in a very flat state for packing and shipment, or mailing. This construction is quite GSSelltlflllIl an article of this nature because it permits the milk bottle cover to opening 15 to expose the upper surface of the cover 11.

The upper surface of the. coverll is our bossed to form the raised axial portion 16 so as to hold the outer surface and periphery of the disk 14 away from theupper surface of the cover 11, thus spacing the same away to form an annular opening 17 about the cover beneath the disk. This opening 17' is adapted to receive the milk tickets 18 or is also suitable to receive money and hold it attached to the cover A. The space 1'?" is also adaptable to receive any memoranda or notes which the. housewife might care to leave for the milk man so that he can readily understand the order. a

The upper face of the cover 11 about the embossed center portion 16 is divided into spaces 19 which are of approximately the same size as the opening 15 in the disk 1 These spaces have imprinted indicia indicating the order, such as milk, cream, milk cream, etc. The upper surface of the cover 11 provides suflicient space to provide a variety that is most common to the milk trade and thus the cover A provides a most desirable means for milk bottle covers, being also designed to be used after the paper cap has been removed from the bottle to close the same, thus providing a very useful household utility.

In accordance with the patent statutes I have described the principles of operation of my milk bottle cap, but I desire to have it understood that this is only illustrative and that the invention can be carried out by other means and applied to uses other than those above set forth within the scope of the following claims.

I claim 1. A milk bottle cap including a rotatable indicating disk having an opening forming an indicating window to indicate the order which is printed upon said cover beneath said disk at one point and blank out all other indioia on said cover.

2. A milk bottle cap having ears formed non-spring metal extending from said edge an axial embossed portion formed in said cover and an indicating disk plvotally setherewith, adapted to be folded beneath the. cured axially to said embossed port-ion wherecap when not inuse and an order indicating disk pivotally secured to said cap.

3. A milk bottle cap having a cover p0rtion curved to fit the neck of a lnilk bottle, ears depending from said cover, said ears being foldable beneath said cover for ship ping and packing, and an order indicating member axially secured to said cover and adapted to expose a portion of the cover and blank out the remainder of the same to indicate an order.

4. A bottle cap and order indicating device including a bottle cover having bottle neck engaging ears, a disk like cover pivot-ally secured to said cap and anopening formed in said cover whereby a single portion of indicia printed upon the cover of the cap can be exposed to indicate an order with the remainder of the indicia blanked out.

' 5. A bottle cap including a cover shaped to fit the neck of abottle, with :1 depending peripheral edge, neek engaging ears of a V by the outer edge of said disk is held spaced from the upper surface of said cover.

6'. A bottle cover including a cap member, ears formed on said cap adapted to hold the same to the bottle, indicia. printed on said cap to indicate orders, a rotatable top disc, means for spacing said disc from the printed indicia on said cover and an opening in said disc adapted to indicate a single portion of the indicia to indicate av single order and to blank out the remainder of the indicia on the cover.

7. A bottle cap including a cover, neck engaging cars extending from the'edge of said cover, an axial embossed portion formed in said cover and an indicating disc pivotally secured axially to said embossed portion, whereby the outer edge of said disc is held spaced from the upper surface of said cover.
