brace all of the essential features of the sepa' rate and independent garments heretofore worn, and wherein the various parts or portions are peculiarly inter-related and connected to each other, so as to eliminate to a large extent overlapping portions or extra thicknesses particularly at those parts of the body where they are least desirable, and to thus provide a'relatively light, cool and simply constructed garment.

Another object of the invention is to incorporate in a unitary garment structure peculiar features for supporting the hose, and wherein the strain is placed directly upon the shoulders, so that the body port on. of the garment is relieved from such straln and also'the strain is removed from the waist.

A further feature of the invention is to provide in a unitary garment structure a body portion, which is in the nature ofa princess slip having the desired fullness at the front between the bust and the waist, and which at the same time is provided with a bust support, which is ai'ranged independently of the gathered or loose portion, and which is embodied in the line of support between the hose straps and .the shoulder Straps. I

With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention will be more fully de-' scribed hereinaftenan'd will be more particularly pointed out in the claims appended hereto.

Referring to the drawing 10 designates the body of the garment whic is in the form of a prlncess slip of the usual configuration and desired length and which is supported straps 11,which are secured at one end to the front edge portion of the slip 10 in aced relation, and which are looped upwar y to pass over the shoulders of the wearer and carried downwardly and stitched or other- .upon the shoulders by a pair of shoulder wise secured to the rear edge of the slip 10 for loosely suspending the same. The shoulder straps 11 are carried downwardly at the inner side of the slip 10 to the waist, and as shown to advantage in Figure 3, are disposed substantially in parallel relation and held apart not only by their stitching to the upper edge of the slip 10, but also by an inelastic rear waist section 12. The waist section 12 retains the lower ends of the stra s 11 in proper position at the back of t e wearer and afi'ords a means of connection between the straps 11 and lower elastic hose supporter straps 13, which extend downwardly substantially in alinement with the straps l1, and which carry hose clasps 14: at their lower ends adapted to be secured to the hose at the back of the wearer.

The slip 10 .is provided within its upper end and at its front with a bust supportin band 15 of preferably inelastic materizfi which extends across the front of the arment and is stitched or otherwise secure at 16 at opposite sides of the slip l0, and is of suitable configuration and length to support the bust. The upper end of the band 15 is supported by the front ends of the shoulder straps 11, while the lower end of the band 15 is held taut against the figure by front,

straps 17, which are secured in spaced relation to the lower edge portion of the band 15 and extend downwardly to the waist.

The lower ends of the straps 17 are secured in spaced apart relation by a front inelastic waist section 18, and the straps 17 are continued downwardly within the front of the garment below the waist section. The lower ends of the straps 17 are provided with elastic hose supporting straps or sections 19 provided with hose clasps 20 u on their lower ends adapted to be adjuste to the hose at the front of'the wearer.

- The waist band is completed by the provision of lateral elastic sections 21, which conheat the opposite ends of the front and rear inelastic waist sections 12 and 18, and which impart to the waist band the desired elastic movement. It is, of course, understood that various adjusting and gathering devices may be used where desired, such as at the tlzplp of the slip 10, in the waist band, or the free to hang directly from the upper edge of the slip as well as the sides of the slip, so

that the only restriction inthe free suspension of the slip. from the upper portions of the shoulder straps 11 is the securing of the V front of the slip to the waist band.

- The garment is also provided in its lower part with a bifurcated section 22 ofany approved configuration, but which is provided with front and rear panel sections 23 and 24. The front panel section 23 is stitched or otherwisesecured to the inelastic front waist section 18 at the inner side of the slip 10 and at its opposite lateral edges .is cut away so as to leave the hips below the waist band free. The rear panel section 24-is of similar confi uration, and has its reduced upper end detail inelastic waist band section 12 by buttons 25 or the like.

It will be seen that there is thus combined I in the single garment the various features heretofore obtained only by separate and independent garments and that the parts are so connected together that various thicknesses,folds and the likeas well as the various extending'means areeliminated.

The garment is designed to be cool and loose fitting and for this reason the front and rear panel sections 23 and 24 are tapered upwardly so that sufficient width of the same only is provided at and below the waist band for attachment of the bifurcated sections 22 to the waist band and in such po-- sition that the sections 22 are supported directly and wholly upon the shoulder straps 1L All portions of the fore, supported from the shoulder straps 11 and the waist band is utilized merely as a connection between several of the sections or parts and for, holding'the front of the slip 10 in loose or full, position at the front of the garment. i v

An undergarment comprising a slip, a breast supporting band secured across the inner'side at the front of the slip and extendmg downwardly from the upper edge thereof, a waist band secured at its front porthan only to the front ofthe slip at the waist thereof for holding the upper part of the front of the slip in slack position, a pair of shoulder straps stitched at their front ends'to the upper edge of said slip for-supporting the same and said supportin band and having their rear portions stitc led to the upper rear edge of the slip and extend- .ing downwardly and secured to the rear portion of the waist band, front straps between said supporting band and thewai'st band for maintaining the supporting band taut against the wearer, hose supporting means including elastic sections suspended from the front straps, and a bifurcated section havmg front and rear panels tapering upwardlyin width to free the hips at the sides of .waist band in line with said shoulder and V the garment and secured to the front and rear portions of said waist band In testimony whereof, I. have aflixed my signature.
