Application filed April 18, 1927, Serial No. 184,749, and in Germany April 28,1926.
My invention relates to closets, more particularly water-closets, and consists of a device for raising and lowering the lid and the seat by means of special handles.
According to my invention each of these handles is located on the uprightieg of a frame consisting of two such legs and a transverse wall bracket adapted to be adj usted at right angles to the wall.
Inthe drawing affixed hereto an embodiment of my invention is illustrated by way of example. In the drawing Fig. 1, is a front-elevation, Fig. 2, a side-elevation, and
3, a plan of a water-closet to which e by means of which through the agency of I hinged rods 2' the lid 9 and the seat k may be raised and lowered at will.
Various changes may be made in the details without departing from the spirit and the scope of the invention, and I desire, therefore, that only such limitations shall be placed thereon as are imposed by the prior art.
I claim as my invention:
In a water-closet, in combination, a bowshaped frame mounted upon thecloset, an adjustable wall bracket for securing the upper transverse member of said frame spaced from the wall, abell-crank lever provided with a handle mounted on one of the upright legs of said frame, a connecting rod pivoted to the free arm of said lever and the lid of said closet, a second bell-crank lever providcd with a handle mounted on the other upright leg of said frame, and a connecting rodvpivoted to the free arm of said second lever and the seat of said closet.
