My 'inventionconsistsin the peculiar and novel construction of an auxiliary tobacco burning'device for tobacco pipes, said device having details of construction, as will be more fully set forth hereinafter and claimed.

A tobacco pipe provided with my improved tobacco burner gives a dry cool smoke, dry because the tobacco is kept entirely away from the bottom of the pipe bowl where moisture collects in smoking the pipe and cool, as a predetermined amount of air is drawn into the pipe through the eircular side chamber 22, in the pipe bowl. Also as the tobacco is kept dry it will now burn through the

Having thus described my invention I claim as new 1. In a device 01" the nature described, a thin hollow body member having sides, an open top and a vclosed bottom in which is a stem opening, said sides having a plu 'ality otslots, a movable member having a stem extending through the stem opening in the body member, a disk on the inner end of the stem, said disk having arms extending through the slots in the body member, for the purpose as described.

In a device oil? the. nature described, a thin metal hollow body member, circular in cross section and having an open top on which are small outwardly extending lugs, tapered sides in which are a iplurality of longitudinal slots and a closed rounded bottom in which is a central stem opening, a movable member having a stem extending into the body member through the stem opening, a flat disk on the inner end of the stem and having radial arms extending outward through the slots in the body member and a nuton the outer end of the stem, whereby when the device is in use in the bowl of a tobacco pipe, a circular chamber is termed intermediate the device and the inner walls of the pipe bowl, a chamber is gtormed intermediate the disk on the movable member and the bottom of the body member and a chamber is formed in the bottom of: the pipe bowl below the bottom of the body member, for the purpose as described.
