IMPROVEMENT IN ADVERTISING CARD-RACKS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No.
163,039, dated May 11, 1875; application filed October 29, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE WILLETT, of Burlington, county of Uhittenden and State of Vermont, have invented a Ready-Reference Gard-Holder and Advertiser, of which the following is a specification:
The object of myinvention is to simplify a card-holding device and combine the same with an advertising-sheet, which I accomplish by the card-holder A, composed of the concave metallic band B, having placed thereon the annular wire holders 0 c c, for holding the cards and index-slips, and the metallic or other similar back having the clips or spurs d dd raised thereon for the purpose of holding advertisements.
Figure l is a front elevation of the entire device. Fig. 2 is a vertical section through card-hold er. Fig. 3 is a view of annular wire holder and its connection with the concave band. Fig. 4 is a view of one corner of advertiser-sheet. Fig. 5 is a section of one corner of advertiser-sheet.
The band B is made of any suitable metal, in form as shown, and the annular wire holders c c 0 placed thereon, and secured in place by the lap-edges of the band B and solder. The index-cards A B O D E F, 870., are made of card-board or metal, or any suitable materials, and are for the purpose of facilitating the finding of any desired card. The back or advertiser E, having the spurs cl d d struck up or fastened thereto, is made of metal or wood, and is divided into any desired number of spaces for the reception of advertisements. The back E is perforated one or more times at or near the top that it may be hung to the wall or other place.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination card-holder and advertiser, composed of the concave band B, having placed thereon the annular wireholders c c c, the movable index-cards A B O D 850., and the metallic or other back E, having the spurs (Z d d thereon for the purpose of holding the advertisements, all as herein described, and for the purpose as set forth.
