CURTAIN BRACKET.

Application filed March 20, 1926.

The present invention relates to a device for mounting curtains and curtain poles on window frames and has for its principal object to provide a structure which may be at tached in place without the use of fastening elements which usually scar the wood-work or in other ways mar the same.

Another important object of the invention resides in the provision of a device of this nature which is adjustable for different size windows and also adjustable for different size shades and curtains.

A still further very important object of the invention resides in the provision of a device of this nature with an exceedingly simple construction, one which is fairly reliable and efficient in use, strong and durable, inexpensive to manufacture, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.

With the above and numerous other objects in View as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of the structure, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

In the drawings Figure 1 is a top plan view of the device.

Figure 2 is a front elevation thereof.

Figure 3 is an end elevation thereof.

Referring to the drawings in detail it will be seen that A designates a window frame of conventional or any preferred formation having the usual side portions 18.

Referring now in detaito my improved device it will be seen that 5 denotes a bar which has one end fixed to a triangular block 6, while the other end thereof is threaded. The numeral 7 denotes another bar which pierces the block 6 and has both ends threaded. One threaded end of the bar 7 adjacent the block 6 is engaged by a nut 8 preferably constructed with an elongated loop portion for permitting easy adjustment thereof.

tail it will be seen that the same includes a U-shaped body providing side 9 and side 10 connected by a bight 11. The side 9 is slightly longer than the side 10 and terminates in a right angular extension 12. A sleeve 13 is fixed to the outer surface of the side 10.

The bights 11 are pierced by the outer ends of bars 5 and 7, and nuts 1% are engaged thereon. The extensions 12 are adapted to e gage the sides B as is clearly shown in Figure 1. so that by tightening up upon the nuts 8 and 1 1 the device may be secured on the frame A. Bracket members include shanks 15 which terminate at their outer ends in depending U-shaped portions 16 which, in turn, terminate in hooks 17. The shanks 15 are receivable in the sleeves 13 and adjustably held therein by set screws 18. The space between the sides of the U-shaped portions 16 are adapted to receive the ends of a curtain roller while the hooks 17 are adapted to hold a curtain pole in place. The block 6 is adapted to be turned around from the position shown in Figure 1 so that the point thereof engages the frame A.

It is thought that the construction, utility, operation, and advantages of this invention will now be clearly understood without any more detail description thereof. It is desired, however, to point out that the structure is exceedingly simple, capable of being manufactured at a low cost, capable of being easily and quickly adjusted, and put in place and is exceedingly compact and convenient. The present embodiment of the invention, however, has been shown merely by way of example since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description. It will be apparent that numerous changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departin from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
